Fat Cat

In My Poems

Once there was a cat,

A cranky old brat.

Who adored to eat,

Anything with meat.

She was also very lazy,

And lived with old Mr. Casey.

Her sister was thin,

And loved to be slim.

That brat was really fat,

What a stupid old cat!

One day she died,

About her age she had lied.

The old man regretted that,

For she was a fat cuddly cat.

Hey there!

Budding writer here for a review. I really don't review poems but the title was so funny that i couldn't resist!

I totally loved your sense of humor that came out through this poem and yeah it was such a random topic which i think made it even more humorous.

Another i really liked about it apart from the humor is that you have focused on a very light topic that's what makes it even more appealing!

I really do hope you continue on writing these sort of poems. Your quite good at it!

Thank you

Refreshing, if not anything else! Candid and random, as thoughts are. Why should all poetry be about dark and light and love and death? A random cat is just as valid a thought. I enjoyed this poem, so much that I won't bother with the nitpicking (enough reviewers will certainly do that). Nice work!
Keep Writing.

Thanks, Iam glad you liked it.

Hi Anshira! And Happy Review Day!
Congratulations on writing a particularly entertaining piece of Children's poetry. It has uniformly humorous words, simple AABB rhyme and an enjoyable rhythm to support it all. It is a breath of fresh air really; getting to read a piece that has innocence dripping from all over. I would like to suggest you to go deeper into content and add a tad more plot to it. But seriously you don't need to do that. This one is already perfect(with other pieces of your's, maybe?).

One day she died,

About her age she had lied.

The old man regretted that,

For she was a fat cuddly cat.

Besides serving as a fun-to-read rhyme, it can also teach great values to the young minds. Getting acquainted to our co-existent living beings, learning to love them is a great thing after-all.
The young ones shall relate instantly and the grown-ups will reminisce their playful days.

Keep Writing. Take Care.

I wish I had a cat! I'm just kidding, dogs are better
Strange here and I have a review for you. The idea of this poem is really simple. This is an upside and a downside. I feel like I've seen similar before. The idea is nothing new. I did like this a little, but meh. I can't tell my real feelings on this. Sorry if it feels like Im rushing it out.
Overall, good job. Funny but super simple
Strange gives you...
6.7/10
Great job
Keep writing

The was a very good poem and a very creative poem. I am sure plenty of people can relate to this poem. I really encourage you to keep writing and I will continue to review your work. after reading this I think I am going to ask my parents for another cat.

Great if you gained encouragement from my poem. Thanks for the comment.

I enjoyed reading your poem! :) It is the first humorous poem which I have read so far on this site.

It is a simple poem, mainly easy for everyone to understand. :)

The fact that you wrote in rhymes, makes it more enjoyable for the readers to read.

Thanks!

Haha. Very funny poem. My family has a cat and it isn't very fat, but it has a ton of fluffy hair that makes her look real big.

Haha I love this so much! This describes my neighbor's cat perfectly!! XD Except his name isn't Mr. Casey, and the cat isn't cuddly at all. Fat, but very, very mean. :3

It had a pretty nice beat as I read it, and I showed it to my little sister, who's eight, and she laughed, which means that it was an absolute success! :D

Great job,
Wonder

Thanks for your compliments!!

Haha, this made me think of my cat. She's fat and very jealous. She gets mad if I try giving me attention to any other cat! I love cats, but I still understood what would make you write a poem like this. Your language was fun and upbeat and described...lots of cats. The end didn't make a lot of sense to me, but then again, it IS a poem. It doesn't really have to. Good job!

Thanks

Did you hate cat's when you wrote this? ;)
The poem is a little short in my opinion, but that is just me talking. I like the way you use your words and make the poem into a story. You describe the cat, the owner of the cat and the things she regret. I like that you use rimes. I like that you start your poem with the cat and then tell something about the owner and then closes the poem with the cat again. I don't know how much thought you have given this poem. When I write poems or stories, it just flows out and I have to get it down on paper. This poem reminds me about my writing way.
Your poem is good :)

Thanks

EnigmaticSpirit here to review your poem! (Sorry if I make any spelling mistakes, I'm deaf.)

I'll start off by saying that I thought that this was a really sweet poem you've written. I love the idea that it revolves around. Throughout your poem, you keep a nice and steady rhythm and you did a good job with the rhyming.

However, there's a couple of nitpicks that I'd like to make:

Who adored to eat,

Anything with meat.

The first line here does not sound quite right due to the choice of wording. Perhaps you could replace "adore" with another similar word? I know that this will be difficult because you've tried to keep a steady rhythm with a certain number of syllables in each line.

The last nitpick:

One day she died,

From obesity... mind!

In these two lines, you seem to not apply the rhyming scheme that you have kept throughout the rest of your poem. Like Dreamy says, maybe you should change the choice of wording to make this part work and flow with the rest of the poem.

Overall, I loved this poem of yours and the small message it carries. Don't give up on writing as all writers need to work on something. I see a lot of potential in you and I believe that you can go far with your poetry skills and achieve the best of your ability.

Happy Writing! :)

Thanks, I will try to improve the poem. XD

Hi, LyricalRebel here to make a review of your poem entitled "Fat Cat". I really adore your poem. It's really cute and refreshing, giving me a break from all the morbidity of the poems I usually write :)
It's humorous, I'd give you that. It's best to regard it as a children's poem. Well, I think such because it not only tells a story about a cuddly cat but it also reflects a moral lesson (I think).
Personally, I guess, it depicts the greed of a person and her situation at hand, like her family situation. That greed can get someone nowhere but death and it is quite pointless since there is always someone who will regret losing her because they love her.

Thanks for your encouragement.

Hey Anshira! This is really a great poem. I really loved it. I guess you get inspired with random things and I think that's great. The feeling of hatered or disgust for the cat by you is so well drawn in to a poem. And I loved your rhyming. In the line,
"One day she died,
From obesity....mind"
Is not really working, maybe you should change it to something that will rhyme well.Other than that, this is a very good poem.Keep up your good work!!!!
Cheers!!!
Good luck!!!:)

Thanks, will try to improve what you suggested.
