I saw a video of a street food guy make scrambled egg with fanta. So yeah, I don't think I can defend my country anymore. Or as kids say, "this is negative reel pull", "-100000000000 aura".

I am no longer obsessed with any man and I don’t know what to do with my life.

I started watching ‘The summer I turned pretty’ as part of my ‘let’s watch something till I eat my lunch’ and urrgghh, I just hope I wasn’t an annoying teen too. And at teenage everything seems so BIG and world-ending. Sometimes even in adulthood it does and to that I say, put yourself first, protect your peace and sleep, like a lot.

I don’t know if I’m becoming a professional hater as years go by. I can get behind this whole “cancelling” of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, even though I don’t believe in cancel culture. We are humans and therefore we change and grow as we age and till we die. We will make mistakes and that’s why every religion there is pushes you towards seeking for forgiveness and showing grace. I firmly believe in giving people chances to repent, to learn and to grow. (The instances I am talking about are those that don’t normally involve court of law but the court of public). So in that respect, I wrote something for someone and we had creative differences in YWS a few years back, they made a unilateral decision which was not communicated to me but my work was still used. I felt very defeated and wronged and even gave up writing for few years because I actually enjoyed writing this piece, I took some classes and did my research and learned to work with new websites, just to write that piece. And I was proud of it like how any mother would feel about her child, and I knew my child was beautiful and needed proper recognition. Now when I think back at the time, it’s not even close to a speck because I’ve seen worst kind of backstabbing and academic stealing that this doesn’t even makes the list.

So when Blake admitted to Ryan rewriting few scenes in the movie, I was ready to have people mug them online. I never liked overly funny, light-hearted couple. Especially, Ryan who makes everything a joke, just like me. Trying too hard, it often means we are trying to hide something, speaking from personal experience. Lol. Jokes and humour work really well when you’re trying to hide your real self. Sometimes I feel the same fradulent feeling when seeing people who practise stoicism. But I don’t try to call them out, who knows what craziness of themselves they’re trying to overcome. I’ve always said self-realisation is a curse. You can never be the same once you’ve realised that there are some things to change in yourself, maybe that’s why the eastern religions teaches you to look within, because once you do, nothing will ever be normal at any point in your life.

Anyway, as I was saying having your husband who is not part of the creative team, rewrite the scenes is shitty. And undermining people’s hardships and force feeding positivity should be a criminal offence. Sure, I can say my hardships doesn’t determine me but to take a public character and rewriting her to your standards and ideology and stripping people off their connection to that character is not the girl boss move. And who would want to mash up Wolverine and Colleen Hoover novel together, even the worst fan fiction writer wouldn’t come up with the crossover. We already have Twilight, I guess. Mash up only works if the fans came up with it, I think. And it feels like the couple will never admit to their mistake, and hopefully, Taylor Swift doesn’t come in defence of her friend.

Tbh, I never liked Mr. Beast. I came to know of his existence during Pewdiepie Vs T-series saga. My opinion on the latter is, it’s never surprising to me when Indians support a foreigner and hate their own kind. And I also thought it was being blown way out of proportion. Anyone can tell you that an individual who built That kind of fan-base brick by brick, cannot be compared with a corporation that has produced and owns thousands of songs from hundreds of movies. It was a losing battle for the corporation and unnecessary or maybe fan-pulling content creation on his part. Inspite of my strong belief, I still subscribed to and consumed pewdiepie’s content. 😌 I think he was the first guy to react on The Button! Dating edition. I liked how he wasn’t too rude with his opinions about the participants or saying unnecessary mean comments for few dry laughs. He appeared pretty chill to me.

On to Mr. Beast, I only wanted to address this now because some local YouTubers raised funds to have huge posters of him to put up on highways asking people to subscribe to his channel. LOL! My brother showed me a video of his where he puts people from age 0 to 100 in a box and made them fight for money! I kept asking my brother if this was a satire because I was legit crying (and I so badly didn’t want to, I am too sensitive like that) when people started convincing the others on how much they needed the money. Regular people with regular jobs, basically being heartless. I know many would say, ‘but that’s how life is.’ No, being heartless isn’t how life is. One could argue that that’s what all real-life tv shows are, again, it still doesn’t justify the methods or the end goal. I felt like I was watching emotional manipulation part of squid game. And my brother says that he made a real-life squid game too! “Did he shoot people?” (Well, I’m not that dense) I only disliked him more. Since, EVERYONE liked him and called him the best YouTuber ever because he built houses and gave away money and it costs him more to be charitable than what he earns on his videos, I still disliked him. I believed I was the problem especially since I’ve never built houses or gave away money. Now, my YouTube feed is filled with videos of commentary channels titled, “Is Mr Beast over.” I think I know what this is about, just few days back my brother was saying that he’s being cancelled because half the things in his videos are fake, LOL! Like the explosions et al. I also want people to address his content. About how Romans-Gladiator-Rich-people-watching-poor-people-fight all his videos are.

I tried to attempt YWS’s olympics and realised that my creative juice is empty. This makes me so sad. I can’t even come up with something ironically. And my tirade now has a word count of our little status box on our wall.

The Paris Olympics has disqualified Vinesh Phogat, an Indian woman wrestler for being 100gms overweight in the women's 50kg category. She even cut her hair to weigh less. She was to wrestle today for Gold! This women was part of the protest that removed the India's Wrestling Federation chief over sexual harassment allegations. She was manhandled during the protest and many accoladed wrestlers gave back their awards because the government wasn't taking any action against the man. So her winning this would have been a political statement. This is disappointing. I can only imagine what she's going through.

The way I see it, there’s whole lot of disrespectfulness going on around the world. Disregard of each other’s religion and customs, especially when most are moving towards embracing the differences and diversity. These minute disrespect and disregard will only set us back to the times of intolerance. Just as my uncle would say (srsly it’s a saying in my language and I’m translating it here) “Let’s throw a feast for all but then you go and bring a bowl of shit.” (Sorry for the imagery but srsly, I couldn’t stop thinking about this everytime I watch world news.)

I give myself the “ick” when every time I post here and it begins with “since I’m old” In my defence, I am old for this site. Maybe I shouldn’t focus too much on my age and just share my experiences and thoughts without glorifying a very natural process in animals. Aging But what the hell is “skibidi toilet”? In the brain rot teens defence, I have not heard them say it or in social media comments. It’s always the social commentary videos that often bring it up. I think it’s funny that the young people are coming up with these funny word play/ jokes. It’s always never that serious, anyway. But still, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?! 😭
