Like Me
“No, I’m not going to the party,” I say
she sneers back at me,
her superiority-complex
evident in the rhetoricality
of the inquiry
Bitch, I want to add
Like,
“No, I’m not going to the party, Bitch”
and quietly go back
to the polynomials
that I’m working on
Yeah, I’d like that
I long to be a person
who says those things
that tells it how it is
and isn’t afraid of the retort
as long as I said the truth and
defended myself
Most importantly
I want to stand up for the person
who doesn’t cause drama
who apologizes when they wrong you
and to whom conceit doesn’t come naturally
However for today
I’ll just sit quietly in
the third row
right in the center
not too close but not too far
to hear what they say
about people like me

I really like how you show yourself on the poem and aren't shy for people to know about you most people would just put really generic stuff about themselves but you told about your outlook on said person, what you study and where you sit very well done!
I really like this. I think that most people have felt this way at least once, if not more, toward someone. Sometimes it's just the wrong day and you just don't want to put up with it. Really good job. I loved it!
