Frey

If a simple thing like eating is difficult, you can't imagine being locked in a steel container on wheels for half an hour with these people. Seriously, it's ridiculous.

This is the time of day when I most seriously doubt whether Arinna is human or demon. It's not that she's pranky or mean or even rude. It's just that she talks. Non-stop.

"Frey-change-the-song-please-put-on-one-dir--"

"If you say 'One Direction,' I have the obligation as an American citizen to stop this car and sacrifice you to the Good Music gods," I growl, but by then she's already asking Juno to play ping pong after school.

"Ari, I can't," Juno says, bristling at the c-word. I'm surprised she even said it. Asteria and I exchange a look. Ari doesn't really understand the concept of blindness. Sometimes she forgets.

"Oh, yeah, I forgot," she says, sitting back in the seat. See?

Half an hour. Of that. And God forbid a song she does like comes on. I swear, I've heard "Let It Go," from Arinna on the way to school more times than I've actually gone to school.

Ah, finally, we're here. Meltdown Academy is located in the bright and sunny ghettos of downtown Atlanta. It sticks out like a preppy thumb. The school, first off, is circular. The halls are rounded, and in the center sits an enormous courtyard, the perfect make-out area, unless you're me. I swear, this building defies logic and science. The gym (a place I never visit), the auditorium (my home sweet home), the football field (my worst nightmare), and the other facilities are all outside the circle, at the back of the school. It's the weirdest damn building in the Deep South. I swear.

First order of the day is getting Juno to Emma, her little helper, which, for me, might as well be a Navy Seal mission. The girl has a problem, people. I mean, she's nice and all, but--

"Hi, Frey," drawls the Voice That Haunts My Dreams. I turn to face Emma Marian Fitzgerald. My deranged fan-girl.

"Don't you look positively dapper," she coos. So subtle. As a joke on the girls' wearing dresses, all the senior boys wear sweatpants on the first day of senior year. I look like a homeless person who dressed as a hobo for Halloween. I muster a smile in the face of death. Emma's brown eyes that match her skin dart from me to Juno to Asteria and back to me. I thank God Arinna is safe at the middle school, and not around to see this. I'd never hear the end of--

"Juno, class starts in fifteen minutes," the Voice says, breaking me from my thoughts. Out of the frying pan, into the fire.

"Frey, why don't you walk with us to my locker?" asks Juno, donning the Smile of the Demon Witch from Hell. Asteria, praise God, saves my ass.

"Frey and I have to do calc...somethings," she slurs, grabbing my arm and stumbling down the hallway, out of the line of fire. Emma waves, calling something I, blessedly, can't hear.

"Have I ever told you how much I--"

"Yeah, yeah," Asteria grumbles, holding her head, "Just get me the Advil in my purse."

A brother's work is never done.

Hi!

Good work here, we get Frey's point of view, and we get to get a dose of their main environment, the school they attend. I like how descriptive you were, and how the you kept in Frey's voice the whole time, rather than breaking out of the mood to deliver plain descriptions.

I must say, something about this chapter made it slightly more challenging to read, I had to look over a few lines, to make sure I understood them. Also, I would have liked more description about why Emma's voice is so terrible, and why this is the most distinguishing thing about her character and presence.

Other than those nitpicks, I think it was another chapter well done, picking up your humour again from Juno's poignant and slightly sad chapter.

"If a simple thing like eating is difficult,"
*I would emphasize on the fact that when you say "eating is difficult", you are talking about Frey's encounter with Asteria and his cereal earlier.

"she's pranky or mean"
*do you mean cranky?

"Emma's brown eyes that match her skin dart from me to Juno to Asteria and back to me."
*Emma's brown eyes match her skin, and they dart from me to Juno to Asteria and then back to me.

Besides these few grammar mistakes, this is another great chapter!:)

"Voice That Haunts My Dreams"
You. Are. The. Best. Nickname. Maker. In. The. History. Of. All. Books. That. I. Have. Read. Exept for maybe the hamburger lord. I have to say that that one was pretty good. :P. (Referencing my own book, please ignore.) I am literally laughing right now, which is a great upgrade from snorting air out of my nose forcefully and smirking slightly. Keep up the good work!!

Your Royal Highness, it is me to serve once again!

This chapter made me smile at the end. Really, I love how Asteria saves him just so he can help her and how the sisters interact in general. I thought Emma was going to turn out completely different than she is now - I was kind of surprised. I hope we see the nice side to her soon and find out why her and Juno are such good friends. Maybe I will like her more as a character then, although there is nothing completely wrong with her yet.

Sometimes she forgets.

"Oh, yeah, I forgot," she says, sitting back in the seat. See?

How does a sister forget her sister is blind? I didn't see that as quite making sense. I wouldn't mind if maybe Juno's blindness was a sudden thing and they were still getting used to it. That might make sense. But then you'd have to think of a good reason for it. As it is right now, I feel like Arinna must be, well, a very dumb person to forget about the needs of her sister!

Other than that, I have absolutely no criticism. This was a good chapter! Let me know when you have another one up on my wall or something. I would love to keep reading <3

Hi there!

Another great chapter :) I think Frey is my favorite character to read. I really enjoy the chapters that are written from his point of view. I think it's because I can totally relate to him. I have two brothers so I'm the only girl sibling. Frey on the other hand is the only boy sibling so I see a lot of similarities between us.

"Frey-change-the-song-please-put-on-one-dir--"

I don't think it's necessary to put the dashes between the words here. You've already said that Arinna talks nonstop. Using the dashes makes it a bit redundant. Instead you could write this dialogue without the dashes and then mention later that she was talking so fast that Frey could barely fit in a threat if she didn't stop asking for One Direction. Oh yeah, and One Direction should be capitalized.

I feel like the story is really starting to pick up in this chapter. Not that it wasn't going somewhere already, but now I feel like we're getting into the main conflict. Every good book has a main storyline and conflict. Although I'm sure you know that because you're a writer :) I can't wait to read more!

Sorry for the short, lameish review. There wasn't really much I had to say about this chapter. You're doing a good job writing this story and I can't wait to read more!

Keep writing!

Hey! IamTraunt here!

Just some things you need to adjust:

"Hiiiiii, Frey," drawls the Voice That Haunts My Dreams.

Shouldn't be capitalized.
Maybe you should put:
Hiiiiii, Frey," drawls the-voice-that-haunts-my-dreams.

All the senior boys, as a joke on the girls' wearing sundresses, wear sweatpants on the first day of senior year.

This sounds a little awkward, maybe if you put:
All the senior boys are wearing sweatpants on the first day of senior year as a joke because the girls are wearing sundresses.

Just a thought.

I muster a smile in teh face of death.

I look like a homeless person swallowed a hobo.

I'm not too sure the point your putting across. I get that Frey thinks he looks like a homeless person, but why a homeless person that's swallowed a hobo?

Characters:
Frey is quite an interesting character to work with. He's a I'll-do-everything sort of guy, I like that. You make him show us how stressful it is having siblings (Especially sisters) and you go into real depth about his feelings. I really love the fan-girl thing you put in there. Not only does he have to cope with three sisters, you make him have a girl (could we say stalker?) who is a 'fan' of Frey's. Its really funny! And its good to put humour in your story as it will stir the reader on, because a witty story is an enjoyable story. I also like how you show how siblings look out for each other. This is really shown well.

Dialogue
Your dialogue is realistic in places. I'm not too sure when Emma says 'dapper' (which means trim and well dressed when I looked it up). When you put this, it makes me think that Emma is either posh or nerdy (I'm not sure if that's what your trying to put across). I don't know the character of Emma very well yet, but what I got from it is A) She's obsessed with Frey and B) Her vocab is just... Woah. I'm not too sure about the 'hiiiiii' either. Maybe if you just put 'hi' the reader would know she goes 'hiiiii' because you put:
"Hiiiii, Frey," drawls the Voice That Haunts My Dreams.

I'm sure the reader knows Emma emphasizes her greeting when you put that she drawls.
But that's just my opinion.

Otherwise, you did great! I love your story and I can't wait to read on!!!

I did pretty much all the fixes you suggested except the capitalizing thing. If you remember in Frey's last chapter, he calls Juno a Demon Witch from Hell%u2014all capitalized! It's his /thing./
Yeah, "dapper," is a word we use around my school a lot (Meltdown is totally taken from my school, in case you didn't pick that up), so I didn't think it was too big of a stretch.
Thank you so much for that thoughtful review! :D

Sorry about that! xD I forgot you might have been from a different country! Stupid me! Its just I've never heard someone say it in Britain x hahaha :-) Really good chapter btw! :-D
