And, though I loved you,
I was never very good
at saying goodbye.

Hello there. First I would like to say that even though every haiku is three lines, you gave them meaning. I say that because in my head you just put a whole story in my head. I picture a man and a woman standing across from each other, the woman has a flower in her hand that the man just gave her. Then they start to cry because the woman is dying or has to move far away and they would never get to see each other again. I'm not sure what you had in mind but that is what i pictured. I also see in that scenario that they have known each other for a long time. I also liked how you started your haiku with the word "And". In my opinion it made your poem a whole lot better. I assume that you had to deal with some sort of tragic event with a family member and that is what inspired you to write this. Well, that is about I can think to say. One more thing though, you are very talented and keep writing because one day I bet you'll be famous. Bye-Bye.
Hello!
Haven't read a haiku that spoke to me in a very long time. I appreciate the simplicity and found that I was able to relate. This piece of poetry tells a story without giving much detail, and it leaves the reader to ponder what the true message is.
Overall, great job.
Hey!
Don't often see many Haiku's and in all honesty I'm not a big fan of them but I really loved this one. It has so much meaning in so few words and that's what all Haiku's should aspire to be like (in my opinion)
I like that I can't really decide if the message is a positive one (showing a strong and powerful love) or a sad one (the fact that a goodbye had to be said) and I think this is what makes the haiku so powerful.
So, there we go, I really liked it! Good job!
Sunshine here to review....
I've read some of your work, I like what you write, keep on writing!
It's been a very long time since i saw any haikus on YWS. I love haikus, they're short with meaning. I have no nitpicks for this. I really like this haiku, it sounds bittersweet. I kind of relate to this with recent events in my life. And this is probably a few months late but, Welcome to YWS, I hope you like it here.
Same :/
