Note: Thanks to Aley, for giving me the inspiration for this poem.
The painful splinters of Winter cast a hollow shadow
across the dimly lit moors; glass shatters, bleeds.
Winter awakens the harsh reality of nature,
tears it down to a naked core.
We're offered gifts from the season; gratitude.
Death forced onto us, no choice; unforgiving.
A verdict has been made, chosen by our very selves;
Winter shows no mercy, a facade; indeed it is.
Decay was caused by your havoc, and we care no more.
We have broken, and shattered; rotted due to your commands.

Oh, it's a short poem! It's really a feast for the eyes, especially when it's 5 o'clock and you're holding up the fort on Review Day... -twitch- But nonetheless, I will give you a 100-point review guaranteed! Quantity AND quality! Now, without further ado, let's begin!
Gummy's the name, reviewing's my game! Tonight, I'm going to review Winter's Verdict, by Clarity! Whoa, it's over already? All right! Let's get creative~
I'll start with what I liked. I liked the conciseness of the poem. It's short, sweet, and to the point. 10 lines; just how I like it. Now if only it had a rhyme scheme...
I digress. Another thing I like about the poem is how it portrays a darker side of winter. You know, the one that's always disguised behind Christmas and the like? The grammar is pristine , and the theme of winter stays firm. The main theme of this piece, however...
...It's all over the place. I don't get what this poem is trying to tell me other than "Winter is evil". It's not like we chose to have winter, and it's not like winter has any say on whether we've been good or bad. I don't know, it's probably me that misunderstood, so I'd love it if you could clarify that doubt for me c:
I'd like to end this review with the usual closure. As always, take care, and keep writing! I expect to read more of your work in the near future, and remember: Practice is key!
It's got quite a... difficult meaning to find. If you want to get my portrayal of this poem, PM me and I'll walk you through it.
Hi, Clarity! I really liked your poem. It shows how you feel about winter quite clearly- Maybe you could add a few good points too? The liked the way figurative imagery is used in this poem.
My favourite lines would be:
"A verdict has been made, chosen by our very selves;
Winter shows no mercy, a facade; indeed it is."
Overall: a lovely poem and I hope to read more of your poems.

Hello Clarity,

Great poem... I really like the name you have for this poem, it sounds...cool and frosty. I know, my writing and word choice are really poor, but your title is hard to describe in just one word. Great punctuation, grammar, and capitalization. I get so upset when people use bad grammar and don't capitalize the right words. Call me hypocrite because I know that I don't always do it either. When you end the line with "selves;", I don't see how you need a semicolon there instead of just putting a comma, unless your making it a complex sentence. Oh! The writing mechanics and rules... There are just too many to remember and I haven't got them all at my fingertips. I hope that you continue writing because you truly are a good writer. Keep up the good work! (I know, that's what teachers and parents say to praise us and they even put the phrase on stickers!)

P.S. If you have time or of you want to, can you review or comment on my poem Mirage? I know that it has some mistakes but it is easier to point them out with the help of another pair of eyes. I am always ready to improve my writing. Thanks!
I'll take a look later!
Wow, this is really nicely written!

Your wording is fabulous and works so well with the mood you are portraying in this piece.
My favourite lines were...:
"Winter awakens the harsh reality of nature,
tears it down to a naked core."
I like it because you have really made the reader picture the scene, where winter is harsh and cruel and literally TEARS down to the CORE. Core. Such a good word you've used.
But I'd prefer it more if you changed "a" to "the" to make it seem more precise and direct and important.
Overall, great poem, you've done such a good job! I love it! I'm following you!
