How Can I?

How can I go on?
Tell me this?
Tell me how I can move forward after this?

After my life has been utterly destroyed.
After everything has crumbled.
After all I worked so hard for
disintegrated before my eyes.

What is left for me?
What does my future hold?

Nothing.
Utter loneliness.
Utter darkness.

What I had before is no more.
What my life was ended when
her blood spilled at me feet.

I died with her.
I died when her last breathe
left her chest.

I died when the bullet exploded
from the barrel of his gun
and tore her heart to shreds.

Now my hands are covered in her blood,
his blood,
and mine.

I survive,
but for what?

Tell me what my goal is now?
Tell me how I can move forward
when all I can see is the terror
in her eyes.

I want to know,
need to know how can I?

I was unable to save her,
unable to prevent my last hope's
demise.

Now, there is just another death on my hands,
another person who has died because of me.

I am nothing more than a parasite on society,
on those who love me,
on those who follow me.

You say I must move on,
I must forget,
I must grow from this,
but how can I
when the soil from which
I grew has been drained
of all its nutrients?

Thank you all. Sadly this did come from personal experience. Sad. True. All the above. Twisted life, though, provides for good poetry and writing. Also after I originally wrote this I decided I was going to something more with my intelligence so I started a business. I hope to have it up soon. Anyway, thank you guys for reviewing and everyone who has read my work.

Hi there

This is good.

The structre and flow is really perfect. Pretty much flawless.

However I think this can come off as a bit corny and melodramatic. For example the lines

"After my life has been utterly destroyed.
After everything has crumbled."

It feels a bit more like a connfessional diary at times.

Besides that, good job.

WOW! I adore this, and think its very well written. So emotional and from the soul:)
The words flow really nicely and it achieves its purpose in communicating the feelings and emotions of the author. I would pick out a favourite part, but I would end up writing down your whole poem!
I really like the structure too:P
Well done (and i hope this wasn't written from a personal experience, but if it was, i feel your pain because of how extremely well you conveyed it in this peom!:D)

Oh this is a nice poem. I liked the amount of emotion poured inside; I was able to feel the writer's pain and frustration. I especially liked this part:

Tell me what my goal is now?Tell me how I can move forward when all I can see is the terror in her eyes.

It draws an image to the reader of how she died, what her expression was.

I'm not so good with the advice... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?
