A Nightmare or Reality?

In Poetry

Images of violent acts consume my mind.
Blood runs as a river across the streets.
Bodies lay twisted and mutilated as I walk among
them.

What is this but a dream?
An apocalyptic nightmare
from which I cannot escape.

Yet the carnage around me seems so real.
The bodies,
the faces reflecting the desperate nature of this place.

And the blood,
the river is endless.

The smell of death fills the air,
and the clouds are filled with smoke from the
burning landscape.

Yes, an apocalyptic nightmare,
a dream,
not real.

Or a vision of the future?
Perhaps this is the road down which
we are traveling,
with the inevitable end being the destruction of all
humanity.

Perhaps just a nightmare,
or a nightmare that reveals the truth of reality:

That we are on the brink of society's fall.

Of the poems that I have read from you, this one may just be my favorite.
It puts a clear vision in my head of what your describing. Sad at times, but that is what makes it so good.
You truly are an amazing writer and I envy that.
Great job!

Me myself is not that good at poems and I don't really read that much poems. But this one caught my eye and I really liked it! It is really dark and scary. But there is some kind of truth in what you write and there is hope that if we just can understand that this is what we might be going towards we can stop it before it happens.

Good job!

Loved it, so confused yet certain, so violent yet calm.
I think it should be in lyric, though.
Anyway, I really admire this work.
Keep writing.

Great poem. It is very deep. And I read this while listening to my younger sister play Ke$ha. Which says a lot because Ke$ha's music is not deep at all, and so I wasn't really feeling very deep to begin with, but your poem is written beautifully and even if I'm not a total fan of the whole blood and violence, I did understand where you were coming from. Great poem.

Whoa. Great poem. It makes me sad, but I can envision it in my head and I can feel the emotions going through it. It also has some deep points in it. About where everything is going. Great poem.
