Hello there. ~
(Great name you have there)
So, before I faint because of lact of sleep, I want to say that this work just kind of started and ended in a flash. Well, I think everyome said enough that this is pretty the short work that we are looking at here, so I qill not point that out again pointlessly. I think the meaning can be a lot deeper. Even if I feel like you do not want to make this work any longer? It looks more like a short funny work than a long serious writing. Well, we need the variety here.
I do not find anything that can be corrected in this work.
Keep on writing and I am sure you can write in many different ways. Tables can hold vases too!
Very short.Never enough. Wanting more. Can't because you stopped too soon for me. Feeling sad, and tables are harmless. Harmless I tell you! Complex in meaning but short in the long run. I hope that you continue the poem and I can tell that it would be great! This is going to be a short review but this is a short poem.
Keep writing!
Hello CapitalMonday here for a review. i like to begin about saying how yes, this poem is small in size but the anything that is small, could be big in meaning. Also I like how you capitalized Us as to give the word as meaning.
When i look at a poem, i try to see if there are mistakes in poems/ or maybe something that needs to be corrected. Unlike the poems i have read (which are long), should be made into something greater (as i do see that someone already commented on that). However, there is nothing that would need to be changed nor fixed.
This poem could relate to anyone since yes, a table could be used for food and also how the table could be used for a decoration. but beyond what it is used for, i guess you could say that this table is used for a symbol of life since some people eat at table, people fight at a table, people cry at a table, draw or even sing at a table.
The table is like symbol for memories. Also i enjoyed the rhyming of this poem to give it a smooth, well-written feel to it.
Farewell,
CapitalMonday
this poem is sweet and it can form a good part in a long narrative, or a poem in a story or novel or somewhere else, but standing alone it is quite lame and the emotions are too simple. all get your thoughts straight away.
i would like to make a suggestion - use these to stanza as the starting and ending one and then in the middle introduce a story of you and your love, perhaps something that related with yous relationship and the happy hours spent here.
work on this ground and you would cut a good author...
looking forward for some more addition to this- do inform me if you make any amendments...
Hi RoyalHighness (I really felt I am addressing a queen. lol),
So well done on this point.
I came here with an intention to write a review but your work is kinda too small for a review but well, I can still write a mini review for this mini poem.
Shall we start? Here I go! Please note that all things I am about to say are my personal view points so kindly don't get demotivated over this.
Firstly, I really really want you to make it longer - maybe 3-4 stanzas should look just perfect. For now, there are only two stanzas which, in my point of view, should have been presented as one!
Secondly, I really loved it. Why? 1) It gave me an idea for my next poem. And 2) It is rhyming. I really like rhyming poems
The only thing here, I'd like to suggest is that please make your poems longer and meaningful. Other than that, you are awesome.
It was a pleasure reviewing your work. I hope to review more of your works. Do keep sharing all the things you write. You are great!
Thank you so much! Yeah, I kept trying to make this longer but I kept hitting a snag and decided to try testing the limits.
I'm glad my poem inspired you! Oh my goodness, that's exciting
Thank you so much for taking the time to review my work. I hope to see you again soon!
Hi RoyalHighness,
First suggestion: expand on this. Yes, I realize the whole point of this is to be short, but I don't think it should be that way. You were trying to make the reader think, yes? I think there could really be any interpretation of this to "does she mean I should stand on my table" to something closer to what you were imagining. Part of the charm of poetry is leaving things open to interpretation, but I believe this should really give at least a vague idea of where your thoughts are going. Even a single stanza more of explanation would be an improvement.
Besides expansion, I just have a single nit to pick.
Yes I just said nit to pick. Why is Us capitalized? I usually stick by the motto that objecting capitalization/punctuation in poetry is tasteless, but here I am actually wondering why you chose to make us capitalized. So it would stand out? Because it represents some greater being? You tell me : - ).Otherwise, simple and thought-provoking. Snazzy job.
Overall rating: 7.5/10
Keep writing!
+1
You're right, it's too short, but before this, I was writing pages and pages and getting nowhere, so I figured I'd try out the opposite extreme and work my way from there.
Also, yes, Us is meant to represent something bigger than all of us. Thank you for picking up on that!
Thanks for your review!
Awesome--a happy medium between those two extremes would be great (easier said than done xD).
You're welcome, and thanks for responding to my review!
