E - Everyone

In muffled voices

Author's note: Poem inspired by "Winner Takes it All"

The game begins, slow and tense,

Quickly burning, losing sense,

Knight to B3, Pawn to E5,

I poked a nest, an angry hive,

Forlorn wishes, staggering love,

My head's stuck in a Pirate's cove,

Castle-- Kingside, Queen pins Rook,

I can barely speak to you, nor even look,

Desperately, I try to Rook Skewer,

But you see through it and I'm one rook fewer.

Rook to H6, Knight to G4,

Our past together is merely a lore.

Pawns murdered, Bishops maimed,

Knights are killed and Rooks are claimed,

All I have left is a king and few others,

Our bond is broken, we were never lovers,

Finally, I try my final play,

My king blocks the G8,

But your pawn moves up and checks my king,

We had not history, had no thing,

Saddened, I refuse to lose,

I will not resign, I will not choose,

But your queen moves almost the same,

And for a brief moment, I don't feel a frame . . .

Checkmate-- You win the game.

WOW, THIS IS AN AMAZING POEM! I have never read a poem like this before. I loved you you made it into a game of chess. Your rhyming was great and I loved the flow of the poem. Though, I think you had a typo in this line. "We had not history, had no thing," I think you meant to say, We had no history, had no thing. Besides that the poem was downright perfect. I loved every second of it to the point that I could not look away from it until I finished reading it.

Amazing job! Can't wait to read what you write next!

Carpe diem,

Wow good job! I really, really, really LOVE IT! This is so unique! I don’t think I hav ever read any kind of poem written in this way before. Like I said, it’s so uniques and one of a kind. I love how many different references and how ,any different ways you are able to express what you are saying. It may seem like you are writing about a simple chess math or game, but you are able to turn it into something that is actually really interesting and fun to read! I loved reading it because it’s just so good and so special. I love how you make it a story. You are narrating it, but I also feel like all of the chess pieces are individual characters.

I love the line

Our bond is broken, we were never lovers

This is AMAZING! Keep up the wonderful and fantastic work! Merry Christmas 🎄

If you play chess this would probably make a little more sense

If you don't know what Rook Skewers or Pins are then you can search them up :D
