he reached towards the forest

E - Everyone

In poetry

He reached towards the forest,

and their fingers interlocked.

His heartbeat pounding quickly,

like the ticking of a clock.

-

And the trees and birds and flowers,

awakened slowly to his call.

And in the midst of summer,

leaves began to fall.

-

He stood there in the colors,

and watched the leaves rain down.

For a man's most faithful lover,

is the heartbeat of the ground.

-

He reached towards the forest,

and, to his surprise, it reached back.

And the leaves turned glimmering gold,

as the sky turned inky black.

Hey there! It's ZeldaIsShiek here to review another quintessential piece of literature that made my day and win this Review Day by helping the Red Pandas stay in first place and reaching my goal of 80 reviews. I might even get to 100, if I work hard enough. Anyway, that's enough idle chatter from me. Let's get into the review.

The first thing I loved about your poem was the druidism and the references to the Earth as "a man's most faithful lover." I also loved how you used beautiful imagery to draw parallels between real life, such as the colorful leaves the heartbeat of the earth. I felt that this poem was about nature calling to a man- giving him life, love, and a purpose... And he responds by extending his hand to nature. In return it extends its hand, and the man sees before him the true beauty of nature and its purpose. Everything else goes black for him. All he can see is his new obsession with nature, as he has answered the call of the wild... Not related to the equally epic book...

Anyway, that's just my opinion on your poem. Keep writing, and never stop expressing yourself using paper and ink. Bye-o!

This, like all of your other poems, is beautiful! I love the line "For a man's most faithful lover is the heartbeat of the ground." You can see just how much this man loves the world around him, and it's stunning. There's really nothing else I can say except keep writing!

(sorry for the unhelpful review lol)

Omg I never realized that you were so good at poetry! The prompt was vague and you took it and ran (even though you probably didn’t do that)! I love how you had the man fall in love with the beauty of nature that surrounds him. Such beautiful detail I felt like I was there which I’m sure looks absolutely amazing!!
