I Write

Spoiler! :
This poem and "This is Me" were both inspired by another poem I read called "I am a Poet", so the two that I wrote are very similar.

I write.
I pour my emotions out
through a pen
and onto paper.
I let loose pieces
of myself
and show them
to the world.
I let my thoughts drift
and, for the moment,
you know
what I am thinking.
Everything in my heart,
spread out for the world to see.
Until you understand
my writing,
you can't understand
what's inside me.
I write.

Wow, I have a poem that is nearly the same. "I am A Poet." I wrote mine in a set format instead of free verse or abstract, but it accomplishes nearly the same thing. Well writ. I love the intensity of saying this to people through the best way to write any true feeling or emotion: through the pen. Again I say, well writ.

This poem really captures the MEANING behind "why do people write?"
It's because they need and want people to hear what they have to say.
Excellent job portraying this.

I like it and it has some emotion. I think pretty much every one can relate to it. ( If they cant maybe they should put more of them self into their writing ;] ) Good job!

Hi!

So, this was a very cute poem, and it made me smile. I think any kind of writer (regardless of what type) can relate to it. It's an easy read, and overall it is enjoyable. It's composed well and has a nice flow. I feel like it could still be better, if you really want to harness this and make it a memorable piece of poetry.

Try to develop your images. Since the poem isn't exactly about much save for a basic idea, you have ample room to do this. For instance, take your first line.

I write.

As it is, this is somewhat bland! It doesn't provide a hook into the poem that we're about to read, and it can be expressed in such more detailed, creative and descriptive ways that really paint a picture. For instance, where do you write? What do you write? What do you use to write? Does it come and flow easily, is it hard, or both? Think of analogies that you could use; for instance, if your story comes so well to you, do your fingers move across the keyboard fast like an assembly line? (That's just an example, and a bad one too)

As it is, a lot of your poem, if placed in paragraph form, would read like prose. Poetry's a little different because you have a lot more freedom and have to rely a lot more on imagery. Right now, this poem feels like a skeleton -- fill and expand this with imagery/description.

I hope this helps you; feel free to drop me a note if you have any questions or anything like that.
