Would it be at all ignorant to accept the misery and misreality
that comes with oblivion?
those ever tormented stepping stones
leading my wretched way to wretched places
because the insanity that comes with stress
is the anniversary of the oppressed
Feeling like there’s sorrow
in a tomorrow
that I’ve convinced myself might never come
for the fun of insomnia
keeps me awake at night
Stress looms
ready to bleed me of exhaustion
and wash me in
to torment and tempt me with its anguish
the anguish I thought I would never have access to
But now, oh crikey
sanity is a distant memory
like a dream destination
that I know I’ll never be able to afford
Because in this day and age
beauty sleep is just
a number
And now lethargy is measured
in the number of creases under ones eyes
the shades of grey of the bags that hang
like a scarecrow
under ones eyes
And those eyes
drooping from the adventures that the day brought
and those thoughts of stress
to digress myself
from what really matters
And to be honest now
my sanity is what really matters
my grades are a distant thought lurking yet looming
in the darkest of places within that excuse of a brain
My sanity claws at the edges of my chest
begging to be ripped out
gnawing away at my heartstrings
searching for the weakest one
And if someone was dared to act as a deterrent
to refer those people who need to be cared for
to the sweet, sweet home of crimson love
and misguided guidance
slowly but surely withering in the clouds and beyond
then the world would be at peace; I
would be at peace.

Hello! I love the emotional depth of this poem. It could use a little more rhythm to it, but all in all, I enjoyed it greatly. I understand that I'm a little late writing a review, but I guess I'm picky about poems that I write reviews on. This one caught my eye, and I'm glad it did, cause I loved it. Keep it up, and I hope for more.
Thanks heaps!
Okay, I enjoyed your poem quite a lot, however I need to state this first:
You really ought to add punctuation and separation into stanzas because it was fairly easy to get lost with the flow of your verses and if and when one sentence ended and another began.
Lines 28 and 29 seemed a bit repetitive in simple word choice and line 17 seemed odd just being part of the previous sentence, specifically "oh crikey", instead of being shown as something the narrator said.
I personally really liked these verses for their imagery:
"My sanity claws at the edges of my chest
begging to be ripped out,
gnawing away at my heartstrings
searching for the weakest one."
There are a good few verses that could be revised and several that could easily be combined to flow together better so I would recommend looking back over each set of verses.
I apologize I am not the best nor am I in a mood for reviewing every part of this poem right now, but first I would like to see some added punctuation and stanzas!
Overall I really enjoyed your poem and what it entails and just some revision would make this great.
Hope this helped somewhat.
Have a great day! ^-^
Thank you Frinderman! I'm guilty of it being a tad rushed but I guess nothing that can't be improved with time! Have a lovely day too
