the tree has been finally dusted off and strung with lights
most of the ornaments adorning its branches
half-lit lights are strung up in every corner of the house
the mistletoe has not yet been hung
greenery is not quite covering all empty spaces
almost all the presents have been bought
and not yet wrapped in festive paper
carols are ringing through the broken cassette player
the cookies have been baked and slightly burnt
but all the children are smiling
and christmas is here
everything is perfect

Dearest TheBlueCat,
I love how you crossed out everything that made it a bad Christmas to look on the bright side.
I really enjoy what you have done with your piece of writing.
I hope I don't sound too greedy, but if you had something crossed out, it would have been even better.
Other than that, I think your piece of writing is super creative. I would never thought of this. I am truly amazed.
Keep it up!

I love this so much, this was really good, and actually made me laugh a little. I loved how you crossed out everything that made it not a perfect Christmas, but then tied it all together by saying it didn't matter anyway, because everyone is happy. After all, Christmas is about being together! I do think that instead of, "And Christmas is here" it might sound a bit better as, "Because all the family is here" That might fit better for what I think the main idea is. But that's just my thought!
Overall, I loved this poem, I was a little late, but I'm glad I read this, it put me in the festive mood in January!
As always, keep writing, and happy new year!
Hey there, TheBlueCat, MaybeInk here for a review.
Am I the only one who has come to the realization that Christmas is LITERALLY only a couple days away?! Honestly, you'd think I've been living under a rock for the past two months.
On to the review.
I just want to point out that Christmas should be capitalized, other than that, no grammar or punctuation mistakes.
I love how in your poem, you cross out everything that would make this Christmas anything less than perfect. This kind of reminds me of how my mom frantically runs around before people come over for Christmas get togethers trying to make everything look perfect.
Well, that's it for me, have a merry Christmas, Blue!

Hello! It’s KaiRyu here for a review. It’s been a while so I do hope you forgive me if I leave anything out.
First of all, I love how you say how everything is perfect at the end despite all the little imperfections dusted through the poem. It adds the feeling that the setting doesn’t have to be physically perfect to have a great time. The transitions are extremely smooth and the flow of the poem is astounding. I honestly have no complaints. It expresses how Christmas should be and since it’s all about not having to be perfect, the imperfections in the poem makes it even better. Great job! I’m sorry I couldn’t offer much in critique, but I hope this helps anyway.
