Fuzzy not fat
But still pretty chubby
Silent little paws
Pad through the room
Eleven pounds of cuteness
Of purrs and bites
A soft silver-grey tabby
With a super fluffy tummy
The tummy is white with grey-brown spots
And a large poufy tail
Of dark greys and silvers
Large golden eyes
With pupils like voids
The bigger they get
The more likely she wants to play
And bite your feet
A little bit spoiled
She meows whenever there’s food
Two years old and still acts like a kitten
A cat named Fish
~~~
Sleek as an otter
With purrs like distant thunder
Bright green-gold eyes
That beg for more brushing
Slightly shy with new people
A shadow of a cat
A few white hairs showing
Displaying her age
Softly snores as she sleeps
Not too old to play
She chases strings across the floor
And eats spiders and my shoelaces
An old lady of about thirteen
A cat named Velvet
~~~
Very, very fluffy
With fur like the softest cotton
But tangled because of the long fuzzy length
Black in the dark
Brown in the sun
Purrs rumbled loudly
Green eyes shone
Always rubbed her head against my legs
And flopped down in my path
Not shy with new people
Warmed my lap sometimes
Mother of Velvet
Was about fourteen
A cat named Cocoa
~~~
A very big fat cat
Soft tabby grey and white splotched fur
Always sleeping
The biggest loaf of a cat
Never caring who petted him
Purred like a lawnmower
Gently playing
But getting carried away
The sweetest cat I’ve ever had
Was about fifteen
A cat named Buddy
Damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am in love with your poem. It kept me smiling throughout till end because I am a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge cat lover and have cats too. And it reminded me of my cats and a few points i can relate with haha :') good work! nice piece to read.
Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed! (But please watch your language)
Thanks for sharing. Your fascination love and admiration for cats comes through loud and clear. I like how you describe the individual sounds of each cat’s purring along with their general personality traits and appearances. I was made to pause by the word “poufy”. It came across as a misspelling of "puffy” but of course it is a legit word.
Suggestion:
Placing each cat’s name at the start is better since placing it at the end seems like an introduction to the following cat.
BTW
For some reason the scene of that lady with all her cats in the film “Jeepers Creepers” kept popping into my mind. But of course that’s just me.
Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed!
HOWWWWW CUTEEEE
One grammer thing that really bugs me is the "11 pounds" thing. Spell out elleven pleaseee
This is sweet, and descriptive and I really like this! It also tells a story and I like how theres more than one cat being described. Are these your cats? Are they made up?
Hmm, I like this!
Good job and keep writing!
Izzy
Thanks!
Yes these are my cats(well, Fish is my sisters cat and Cocoa and Buddy have passed) Something is off? Must find and destroy it...
Great use of poetic devices! The only thing I noticed is when writing numbers you always want to write out the number. For example: Instead of '15' you write 'fifteen'
Besides that it's really good and cute! Keep it up!!
Thanks!
Aw darn, I missed that.. must find it and destroy it..
