E - Everyone

In Old Poetry

A/N Styled after Fog by Carl Sandburg for my English class

The stars are scattered across

the blanket of night,

like shards of glass.

.

There are countless pieces,

yet they all shine

just as bright as the next;

all admired just the same.

.

The blanket slowly moves,

causing them to shimmer.

.

Then the sunrise comes

and sweeps them away

in a glow of red and gold.

Hey there TheBlueCat,
Myjaspercat here to leave a review.

The stars are scattered across
the blanket of [the] night like It's probably just a personal thing, but I would consider putting 'the' into this line. Also, regarding punctuation, I think a comma would be a mindful thing to also add to this line. I also wouldn't put the comma at the end of the line but rather between 'night' and 'like.'
shards of glass.

The blanket slowly moves,
There are Think about changing these two words to 'they're' or 'they are' instead. by saying 'there are' it makes it feel impersonal and kind of "hides' what you're talking about yet we already know that you are talking about the stars. countless pieces
but I feel like you should change 'but' to 'yet' as it could help the flow a bit. Also, whether you change but to yet, you should still place a comma after this word nonetheless. they all shine

causing them to shimmer. I like this image of the shimmering stars. Good job there.

Then the sunrise comes
and sweeps them away I don't know if 'sweeps' is the best word for this image. It feels a little awkward in my opinion.
in a glow of red and gold.

Alright, so overall I really enjoyed this poem. It's always the simple pieces that seem to linger so I give you props for writing a well rounded poem. I hope my poem helped a little as it's been a while since I've given one. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to ask. Keep writing.

Thanks for the review! :D

Hello, E.E here for a possibly quick review and maybe some utter nonsense! Grim is here as well, drinking hot cocoa and being a slacker. *Grim looks over, glaring* So, lets get started. :smt020 :smt015

HEY, CAT, I AM HERE TO REVIEW YOUR WORK, OK? OK!

SO, the first thing I noticed is that a few lines are missing some needed commas, periods, exclamation marks, ect. Its only commas though, so no biggie. The lines in need of the wonderful commas would be "the blanket of night like", "There are countless pieces", "Then the sunrise comes" and "and sweeps them away". Otherwise, the poemed flowed well and my favorite line, (well, lines), would just have to be "just as bright as the next; all admired just the same.

Overall, I liked the poem and keep up the good work! So, happy Valentines Day ! I really need to go now, Grim has souls to reap and he needs more cocoa. He has a problem, seriously. Annnd I think he brought a dinosaur to life. Great. Anyways, Cheerio and fruit loops to you!

Thanks for the review! :D I'll keep this review in mind when revising it before submitting it!
