I cannot cry

In Old

I cannot cry, cos my eyes are running dry.
I fake a smile to hide the pain, the misery, the hate,
But I can't forget it, no matter how hard I may try.
Like a careless animal, you just ate and ate,
You ate me up and you spat me back out.
The things that mattered were the things you didn't care about.

Chorus
I want to know the truth behind the hurtful lies.
I went through so many things that I didn't understand.
I want to understand you, want to see things through your eyes.
I wish that I'd stopped you, wish that I'd made a stand.
I don't hate you but I could never forgive you.
I just want to forget about you, the things you used to do.

I cannot trust, cos you broke me up inside.
I've lost my place and I can't find my way back to the light.
I'm lost at sea and I am being swallowed by the tide.
I've lost all my feeling, and I've lost all my sight.
I hide my face, I don't know how to show it anymore,
But what I do know is that there is something that I hope for.

Chorus
I want to know the truth behind the hurtful lies e.t.c

I'll find my heart, I'll find my soul, I'll find my way.
I'll forget about all of the things I hated you for.
No longer will I listen, I'll say what I wanna to say.
I won't have to play on the safe side anymore,
I won't let you rule my life, I will be me.
Nothing about what happened is fair, I just want to be free,
Free of you.

This planet has - or rather had - a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much all of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movement of small green pieces of paper, which was odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy.
