“i’m sorry”
he whispered
softly, ashamed
eyes fastened to the floor
tears streaking down his face
~
“i’m sorry”
he repeated
hoping you’d listen
wishing you’d say “it’s ok”
that life could go on the same way
~
“i’m sorry”
he pleaded
but you wouldn’t sway
you knew his heart
was engraved with another’s name
~
“i’m sorry”
you laughed
for those words
lost all meaning to you
~
“i’m sorry”
his excuse
time after time
his remedy to your pain
~
“i’m sorry”
you stated
rejecting his empty promises
refusing to be treated that way
~
“i’m not sorry”
you corrected
standing up for your pride
for your future, your worth, your life

I loved your poem. I think this really shows how people say I'm sorry without really meaning it and expected the person to accept their apology. I really liked the last stanza because it's telling the other person that they're not saying sorry because they mean it. You have a great writing style, Keep writing!

It calls out to all those not committed to what they call a 'relationship'.
"“i’m not sorry”
you corrected
standing up for your pride
for your future, your worth, your life"
Loved the last stanza that highlights the fact that you are not the problem in the relationship, the other person is. The other person who neglected your feelings, used you and hurt you. There's a much greater opportunity, yet to come.
You have an impressive writing style.
P.S. calling my friends to beat him up (lol)
Keep writing!
Best wishes,

All right! Betrayal, not specifically, not intentionally, remains a betrayal. And even thousands of apologies will not release the load of disappointments.
And the once beloved and very close person will suddenly turn into a completely alien.
Above all, take care of your heart, do not open your heart to the first person you meet ...
