You expect something beautiful
I give you an explosion
Hoping you're too ignorant
To know that there's a difference.

I like it, it is short and not all that sweet. I do think explosions are beautiful so I guess I'm ignorant. Why did you write this, if you don't mind my asking? I am not sure exactly what is about though. I really like it, good job.
Rule number one boys: there is more to a girl than beauty..and boobs. If beauty and boobs is all you see than you gonna get an explosion!!!
Well told. Sweet and simple. Effectively written. What else can I say? I think sometimes more is said by using fewer words. You have demonstrated this idea well here.
Hi there, LGF here for a quick review!
Wow, I absoloutely loved this. The shortness of it made the words sink in more and drew out the simplicity but also depth of the words used. I loved the message hidden behind it, that we as a society cannot see the beauty in things and perhaps that there is pressure to come across as 'beautiful'.
There isn't really much else I can say but well done and keep up the good work!
LGF
I gotta admit, usually I'm not a big poetry fan, but I really like this!! There's a lot of meaning behind these four lines. It's kind of saying that certain people have a sort of skewed idea of what beauty is so they see beauty in the wrong things, kind of romanticizing them in the process. Like, an explosion usually equals destruction and for somebody to think that destruction is beautiful, well, in my opinion, they have a sort of weird outlook on beauty.
Of course, there's really nothing to suggest as far as grammar or content with such a short poem, but I hope to read more stuff like this with awesome ideas behind them!
Hey, MysteryMe!

Wow! Another wonderful work by you! By now, I'm just going through your writings and knowing that this is going to make me feel so insignificant.. Never mind that, by the way, really.
To be honest, this took some time for me to understand, but I get what you mean. I don't know why, but I just get what you want to say. Um, please allow me to attempt to understand this poem?
So, is this describing the human nature of violence? An explosion is surely not something that is to be admired, but yet you seem to say that 'you' would not notice that it is not something to be admired (beautiful). I think that you are saying that by human nature, humans want something violent, something big and noisy and deadly, and say that it is beautiful. Or you might be saying that explosions can look really beautiful, with their deadliness and noisiness and smoke and fire...?
I'm so sorry. But I can't think about anything other than that.
Keep on writing, Mephis
Thank you for reviewing! I'm glad you liked it
! And yeah, that's one of the main interpretations I was thinking about when I wrote it (there are actually a couple ways that I think people can read this poem). The other way thing about human nature that I was sort of commenting on is their tendency to only appreciate the big, flashy, exciting things in life while ignoring the quieter, simpler things (which, ironically, are often the things what have the most beauty/value). Idk really, I was just sort of going off on a limb XD.
