This is truly my first attempt at a poem. I'm not really a poem person, I'm more into short stories, but I decided today that I would sit myself down and really try to write one. So... here it is. I hope you enjoy.
A thousand lives
All lined up in a row
In my head, in my heart
Filled with joy, filled with woe
Who am I, you may wonder
But I do not say, nor know
For there is no definition
For a writer on the go
Our bodies are still
But our minds race away
Jumping from person, to person
Oh, they never can stay
We think, we dream
Each minute of the day
Of being someone else
Somewhere far, far away
That woman in the bakeshop
That child all alone
That father at the graveyard
That dog munching at a bone
It’s in our nature
As us writers at home
To yearn to experience
Every life as we roam
Despite what logic may tell us
We have a picture in mind
Of being every person
Whether evil or kind
We want to feel every emotion
Discover all there is to find
Do every deed in the book
Be both psychic and blind
We cannot be satisfied
Living one measly life
We must see, we must know
Every man, child, and wife
Peaceful as we are, we dream every night
Of how it feels to be stabbed by a knife
We can’t help but wonder what it's like
To be caught up in a deadly strife
We need to read every book
Write every story in the rough
Watch every little film
Be both flabby, and tough
I know we may sound desperate
I know we may sound gruff
But when it comes to living
Once is never enough.

I loved it!!!! It is outstanding.
Hi there MysteryMe
I haven't reviewed on your works for awhile and was looking forward to more Winter Asylum xD Decided to read your first poem.

This is really inspiring. It truly reflects a writer's feeling, hopes and dreams, to explore everything, to know everything, to widen their knowledge, to live their characters' lives. It was simply stunning and amazing because everything written here is true-- the reader can definitely feel the strong hope in this poem.
I'm not one to point our mistakes in poems, because I'm not good with poem formats and all that, although I enjoy reading them. Honestly, I didn't find anything wrong with this one
Anyway, here's my favourite stanza, one that really stood out from the rest to me:
"I know we may sound desperate
I know we may sound gruff
But when it comes to living
Once is never enough."
I was quite unresponsive to know it ended, I really wanted to read more. This was really nice, it totally captured me on the emotional level.

This was great! I can complete relate to this poem and I'm able to connect with it on an emotional level. To be honest, the flow of the words was sometimes off; however I think you captured who the writer is as a person very well. Great job!
Hi, Cheetah here!
This was really good, it expressed how much we love writing! This was my favorite part:
It’s in our nature
As us writers at home
To yearn to experience
Every life as we roam
I loved it!! Thanks so much for sharing!

Knight Malachi here to review as Review Day comes to a close in a nail-biter.
This is exactly how I feel. I always have all these ideas, and think of all these different stories that could come out of just walking by these different people in everyday situation.s
Peaceful as we are, we dream every night
Of how it feels to be stabbed by a knife
We can’t help but wonder what it's like
To be caught up in a deadly strife
That is definitely something I've thought of a lot, as is pretty much everything you wrote in this poem. I always wonder how I would respond in the situations I put my characters in. Especially in the book I am writing now, which the main character is me, and I am trying to get it as accurate as I can. And I always wonder "What would I do?"
Despite what logic may tell us
We have a picture in mind
Of being every person
Whether evil or kind
Once again true. I always see someone and think, hmm I wonder what they are like? And I will envision perhaps something that will happen. Like I will be in a store and see someone who might look mean in my opinion, and I will think up a scenario of if they started doing something, like pulling out a gun, or stealing something, what would I do.
I tell you all this to show that this poem hit the nail on the head. I liked your rhyming, especially after reading a lot of free-verse poems which I don't like as much. I saw no errors. Good job.
Keep it up!
Happy review Day!!!!
Oh my word...
This is absolute genius! I'm not sure if it's the poet in you or the person that means this piece so wonderful.
So relatable to any writer, and the fact that it rhymes! -- sucker for rhyming poetry
Thank you for reminding us writers of that amazing feeling, truly can't stop smiling.
Thank you so much
Thanks for reviewing! I'm so happy you liked it! I honestly can't stop smiling right now
I'm just overwhelmed right now about how much truth is in poem. Any writer can relate to this. Any actor/actress too. You've summed up all us dreamers & pretenders perfectly. This is the first time I've read any of your works. You ARE a storyteller, that is clear through this poem. I think you're a natural at poetry too. Keep experimenting with it! I kind of want to print out this poem and keep it tucked away somewhere, it's that relevant to my sentiments towards life.

Your words are meant for the page <3 If you're more confident in the short story department, you must be pretty remarkable! But you fit the shoes of poet quite well. You should certainly not abandon that persona, it flatters you nicely.
I'll keep reading that's for sure!
Wow, thank you! This honestly just made my day!!!!
Is this really your first serious attempt at poetry? Because if it is, you're born to be a poet, too! Once again, thank you so much for sharing this! I really connected to it, especially once I realized you were talking about writers again. The way your words flow and the rhythm of each line...it's just great. The entire time I was thinking of how true all your words are. I am so impressed each time I read one of your works! Thank you for sharing and I look forward to more--and keep up with the poetry, because this was amazing.
Thank you!!! I'm so glad you liked it! I've never really been able to write poetry before, and this is actually the first time that when I attempted it it didn't come out as a total flop. So again, thank you!!!!
You're fourteen, right? I was fifteen when I realized I actually had some talent with poems. Until then, I thought I sucked to high heaven, lol. Anyway, great job!
