The Teenage Me

PreviousNext

The ghost of my childhood

Came to meet me last night,

She said that I'd changed-

No longer the girl she used to know.

She danced and laughed and sang,

She asked me if I remembered,

I smiled and nodded happily,

How I wished I could return.

Her little girl plaits and dress

Went up and down as she jumped.

She seemed so happy back then

That had once been me.

The ghost of my childhood

Met the yet-to-be-born adult,

Told her what it was like before.

They made a pact: the teenage me.

Hey,
i really like this poem, it shows lots of great emotions and shows just how connected you are with ur past childhood. although, i think that the line that says 'She danced and laughed and sang,' i think whei said it outloud, it sounded as though it had too may and's in it, i think it should be, She daced, laughed and sang,'

Hi, I love this poem! I can totally relate and I like the way you've structured it and even though I mostly prefer poems that are more than a few lines to be divided into stanzas I think this poem did very well without that, maybe even better because of how you wrote it! I like the visulasation of your past visiting you in the form of another you... very creative!

This'll get 4/5 icky, sticky spiders from me and I gotta say once again, I loved it!

Good Luck & Keep Writing

Hey there! I read this and guess what? Just a few hours back I wrote a poem just like this. Though of course I wrote that before reading this. It's called Me and The Past. Please read it!
Now, on to your poem.
I totally understand this poem. So much has happened, so much has changed about us. We are different from how we used to be. Although I didn't quite understand the end. I think the idea of the ghost of your past coming and telling you something is..... different. Though, if you consider it reality and not fantasy then maybe you should say that the ghost came to you in a dream or something. If it's fantasy then it's totally fine. Forgive me, I am writing this without checking the genre.
Besides that, I think this is an awesome poem! Keep up the excellent work!

I liked the beggining, but then I got a little confused at the end. And I am confused about the title of it, but maybe I'm just having a blond moment. The beat was good though.

Hey there

I like this.

Your flow and rhythm is very well done. It has a strong beat all the way through.

The only thing I have a problem with is the idea. I think that it is pretty worn down and tired idea of seeing the ghost of your past self. So not that into it.

But keep writing poetry because you have a lot of skill.
