Pebbles
Verse 1:
Sitting here on a broken road,
In the ashes of flames from long ago,
I watch a blazin' sun
of the afternoon,
Say goodnight__
And when the light's gone,
I'll sing a new song,
Pick my string,
Wipe these feeling's so wrong,
Walkin' down the road,
Quietly Singin' all night long
CHORUS:
And I'll build,
Memory lane with pebbles...
Sticks and stones and broken bones
And jokes retold that'll never get old
Songs to break your heart
Memory lane with pebbles,
And sunset afternoons and me and you...
Verse 2:
Sittin' in the ashes of a flame so old,
Sun's gone down and it's getting cold,
Leaves upstarted by a lonely wind,
And I'm thinking of you...
(I miss you__)
I miss those days
Oh how we used to laze,
Sun beating down on your smiling face,
We'd sit on our backs in the green grass
Dreamin' of the open air...
I'll build,
Memory lane with pebbles...
Sticks and stones and broken bones
With jokes retold that'll never get old
And quiet remorse,
Memory lane with pebbles,
Of sunset afternoons and of me and you...
I'll build memory lane with pebbles
That'll bear the names of those minor games
With our secret jokes,
Angry revokes,
Our quiet remorse__
Memory lane with pebbles...
Of those long gone days...
Bridge:
It's getting' late,
Gotta face my self-made fate,
But before I do I'll think of you__
(VOCAL SOLO)
I'll build,
Memory lane with pebbles...
Sticks and stones and broken bones
With jokes retold that'll never get old
And quiet remorse,
I'll build Memory Lane with pebbles,
Of sunset afternoons and of me and you
And everythin' we've joked through,
All the times we used to share,
How I lavished in your care...
(Very Light Voice)
And,
Tonight,
I'm gonna die_
(I'm gonna die_)
But I won't fear,
And you know why...
Because of you,
My play time bride
And those long gone days...
I'll put 'em together,
Re-live 'em like never,
Those small miracles,
I'll sing those songs,
Retell those jokes that aren't too old,
And listen on all secrets long told...
From days...
so...

yay!!
It was really beautiful
Isha, correctitude. No, Kay.
Not bad for a scientist
but you took away the part where the guy gets decapitated, and that was the best part!
Beautiful, like I said before, I wish I could write that!
Please post some more lyrics soon, I really enjoyed reading these.
Definitely like the chorus the most...
Pebbles I'm assuming because every road is built up of many of them. It's like a metaphor for every small memory creating memory lane, also a road.
Let me know if I'm right!!!
Hello there, hero!

First of all, this lyric was good and interesting to accompany with an acoustic guitar. The idea was quite enjoyable and every line connects to each other.
I loved the chorus part. And as what Elinor had said above, why pebbles? hmmm..*thinks*
Anyway, keep on writing like this. You do have a great talent.
Peace out!
I loved it!!
I can't say that I found anything wrong with it, I liked the chorus best.
After you upload it to youtube (if you do of course) you must PM me!!!
I really, really really liked it! I also liked how you used only vocals for the end, I like songs that do that.
Anywho...

Thank you Elinor, and by Pebbles (This is what I needed help with) I meant small memories. Those quiet summer afternoons, the beach, sharing a pizza... all those little things in life that seem unimportant, but are beautiful jewels and... get my drift? Thank you, I shall keep your words in mind.
Hi!
Do you have a webcam, or even just a video camera? Tape yourself singing it, and then upload it to YouTube! Then you can post it along with your lyrics and we can listen along. I'll say that I really liked the song! It had a quiet, peaceful setting and I thought that I could almost feel the cool breeze of a summer afternoon that you describe here in the song.
One thing we're never told is the importance or significance of the pebbles in the song. Why pebbles? Why not sticks? It seems like they would both be in abundance where the narrator is at right now.
Oh, and I have something to say about your note at the end. Songs should always be open to interpretation. Even though the writer may have an idea in mind, your reader/listener may think it's about something else. If you want to make it about a condemned guy, that's fine, but it should come naturally when you're writing it. If you're thinking about ways to shove it in, then you probably shouldn't focus your song on that. Since you've already written it, read through it and decide what you think it's about without altering any of the lyrics.
Keep writing, and PM me if you have any questions!
