It's been a while

In [REDACTED]

It's been a while
since I've wrote a poem
in this beat-up book of words.
Maybe I've lost my magic
grown beyond the friendship of a pen;
No, I just lost my way
but now I'm back again,
ready for your teachings.
And I'm back
to writing poems
in this beat-up book of words.

Bahahah... Hi there Alex.

This is some neat poem you've got here. A great way to decide you're going to be writing again... by writing. I would've written more about why I stopped writing, it'd make the reader get to know you better and see how the life of a writer goes. xD

But you certainly did a great job.

It's been a while, No comma needed
since I've wrote a poem, No comma needed
in this beat-up book of words.
Maybe I've lost my magic,
grown beyond the friendship of a pen; I like that you call it a "friendship."
No, I just lost my way,
but now I'm back again, Rhyme kind of threw me for a loop.
ready for your teachings.
And I'm back, No comma needed
to writing poems, No comma needed
in this beat-up book of words.

This is a nice poem, even though I get a little weary of poems about poems and writing (and believe me I'm a hypocrite when I say this, I've written a thousand). All the same, this ain't too shabby. I like the idea you have, of it being a friend, of being "lost" for a while. Overall it's pretty nice.
Keep writing,

Hey there,
Cool. I like your poem.

Maybe I've lost my magic,
grown beyond the friendship of a pen;

I love this part the most. I think the flow of your words are ok.
But take notice on this sentence,
And I'm back,
to writing poems,

You should use root words after to though there is exceptional.
I don't know but I just love this poem. Keep writing :)
