Hi Alex
so, let me start out by saying this has a good start and it seems promising. So please don't take anything I say negatively, because I do like it
.

there weren't any grammatical errors and just one or two spelling errors. Please keep working on it and PM me if you want me to read or review anything else
Happy Writing!
First, setting? We need to know who, what, when, where, why, how. So far, there's some who, what, and when but the others are left out. Take your time to explain these, give the reader a chance to interact and get to know your character a bit. You don't have to give it all away now, but a great deal of information about the character should come in the first chapter.
Next, details. It's hard to be well detailed without focusing too much on the little things, but don't be afraid to use some good descriptors. Talk about the character's feelings, or background, or looks, or anything. Use your details wisely and tastefully and it'll draw readers in and get them hooked
Next, length. I was reading your first chapter and I was getting absorbed and then poof! The chapter was over after only a few paragraphs! I hate to sound mean, but it left me feeling very unsatisfied and confused. "Why was he fixing his uncle's truck? Woah, wait, he's going to school now... and he's late, andddd the chapter's over :/". Those were my reactions as I read. You've got to give more information and add more to the story than that. It's a very good story so far and a first chapter shouldn't be only half a page.
Lastly, ending. It ends so awkwardly and abruptly :/ I was waiting for more details about his school, or some of his thoughts or even a little more conflict between him and his teacher. I don't know if this is really where you plan to end it, but if it is, you've got a lot of revision on your hands
Sorry if I sound mean! I want to see this story grow and get revised and bloom into the novel it has the potential to be
Like I said, it's a work in progress....
And yes, we know most school campuses look alike. Still, at least knowing the school's colors would be helpful.
