Poor old wrinkled

piece of paper,

deformed by the

Paper Shaper.

.

She crushed you down

into a ball,

never to come

back out at all.

.

Confined to a

dark trash can,

the place where all

shaped papers land.

.

Paper Shaper

wrote things on you.

She wrote on all

shaped papers, too.

.

You envy all those

perfect papers

left unshaped by

Paper Shaper.

.

{The syllables in each line vary from three to four, mostly four. There's kind of a rhythm I was thinking of. The poem is about all those crumpled papers that all writers are guilty of throwing away when they make a mistake when writing on them. I know it's not the best, but I'm not the best poet and I wrote this in study hall when I had nothing to do. Reviews please!}

This poem actually brought a tiny tear to my eye as I guiltily glanced behind me at my own waste basket. All too many times, in a fit of despair or dejection I have cast aside the paper. But not without crumpling it beyond recognition. My heart goes out to all those papers that never were allowed to be read, who upon which I wrote things that they'll never get to share, just because I did not deem it good enough. I was compelled to(and almost did) reach down and hug all those poor rejected pieces of paper.

Your poem was beautiful, and I'm planning on showing it to all my friends.
If I get your permission, I may even print it out and frame it above my wastebasket, reminding me that I shouldn't be so harsh to those poor pieces of paper.

Hey! Don't you DARE dog on yourself! This is great work! Your meter is on point, and your subject is so unique. Your formatting is perfect! And you're only 13! Just the title, in and of itself, is so good. It has assonance, making it just roll off of your tongue. Poor paper! I look forward to reading more of your work. Keep it up! Seriously, you are going to go somewhere with your writing.

Thank you so, so much!!! You are super kind; I really appreciate it!!! :D

Hello, Em101cats! This was so cute. Poor paper. I am so guilty of this, especially when writing drafts. I just crumble them and throw them away. I really enjoyed this and I don't really have anything to correct. Thanks for making my day and life easier! <3

~Keepwriting and never get discouraged!

Thank you so much!!! :D

Spoiler
I do it too.

For a short space of time I remained at the window watching the pallid lightnings that played above Mont Blanc and listening to the rushing of the Arve, which pursued its noise way beneath. The same lulling sounds acted as a lullaby to my too keen sensations; when I placed my head upon my pillow, sleep crept over me; I felt it as it came and blessed the giver of oblivion.
