Hello! Ripple here on this lovely Review Day!
So, the main meat of this work is the title. I do like a good pun. However, as others have already mentioned, it only really works for Americans. 'Tis the problem when different countries decide to pronounce the same name differently. I can't really blame you for this, though. You saw the poem, you caught the moment, it worked fairly well.
One of my regrets surrounding this work is that it is really only a good pun. I would have loved to see a poem relating painting to the phenomenon that is Pokemon Go, but instead, there is a one-liner referencing Vincent Van Gogh's life that is nowhere near as impressive as the pun. There's all sorts of parallels you could draw between the two; every Pokemon of a certain type you catch going towards evolving just one of them = brush strokes adding up to a masterpiece. The possibilities are endless. It is a great prompt to go off of. Expand this pun into something beautiful.
Keep writing!
Hello!
Okay, so as this is a literary work, it needs reviewing. Hopefully I can give some sort of insight on how to improve this, despite its shortness.
So, the first thing I thought about when I saw the title was something that someone else brought up. Other countries have other pronunciations for "Gogh." British people who are unaware of the American pronunciation might be a little confused. The poem just won't work as well for them as for Americans. There's not a lot you can do about this, but I am letting you know that this poem might not have universal appeal in English-speaking countries ^^
Next, onto the poem itself.
I think you have the makings of a good joke here, however, I think it's kind of vague as to what "this" is referring to. I'm assuming it has to do with Pokemon Go, but I can't be sure what exactly it's trying to say.
Like, are you as an author trying to make a point that pokemon go is dumb, and if van gogh was to hear of it, he'd be rolling in his grave or something? Why? Why would Van Gogh care about Pokemon at all? The way (I'm assuming Van Gogh is speaking, but it could be some other unrelated person who cut off their ear) the way it says "for this," it makes me wonder what exactly (a) he thinks we think he cut his ear off for, and (b) what beef he has with pokemon go.
The timing of the joke is pretty good, and the pun would be nice if it made sense in any context, but the joke itself has no substance because Van Gogh and Pokemon have nothing in common whatsoever. Of course he didn't cut his ear off for pokemon. He'd never heard of it. It really just falls flat.
Don't give up poetry or jokes, of course! Maybe just figure out some way for this joke to actually make sense, and I'm sure it'll have our sides splitting in no time!
Let me know if you need any help, and keep writing!

As a pokemon go fan (TEAM INSTINCT 4 LYF!!!!) I am offended. As a pun lover I am highly amused. Good Sir/Ma'am/Turtle of Ambiguous Gender, I thank you for bringing this spark of humour into my otherwise dull life.
American pronounce 'Gogh' as 'Go'. Brits say 'Gof'. The Dutch (Van Gogh was dutch if you didn't know) say 'Gokh'. We tend to stick to peoples' native pronunciations when it comes to names, so why switch for poor Vincent?
