Curious George

E - Everyone

In my poems <333

Curious George was not so keen

On who this man or what he'd mean

He didn’t care for names or chat

Just saw a walking yellow hat

He didn’t ask

“Where are you from”

Or wonder why he looked so glum

He didn’t care for shoes or plan

He only saw a yellow man

He saw a snack with walking feet

A tasty treat he’d love to eat

He followed close, he climbed with glee

“This walking banana belongs to me”

Heeeey its been a long time since I thought of Curoous George (although I just saw a quite dark robot chicken short of it the other day o.O) but I remember even as a kid I kinda hated how miserable he made the man in the yellow hat ToT. I always thought he was annoying more than funny, and hated that he always seemed to somehow make things better in the end. Anyway, let's get to this poem.

I really like that this poem does kind of call out CG for his lack of empathy and care xD like I said, I always thought he took severe advantage and never learned any lessons/pretended to be innocent lol (I know its a monkey but he made a deep impression ok lol)

He saw a snack with walking feet

I feel like this really sums it up yknow.

My only critique is the use of "keen" in the first line. I know rhyming is hard, but keen typically refers to desire or intent, and while he does take advantage of the yellow man, I think he is always quite keen to keep that status quo.

Anyway, this was a fun callback to my childhood <3

HI it's CATS here to leave a short review! Your poems are so good. LETS START!
So first, to start off, I love how you based this on Curious George, the famous monkey. We never knew what he thought, so this would be interesting!
I like your rhyme pattern (aabb) is very good and I like the format! BANANAS. GREAT. A yellow man? Maybe a yellow coated man would be better, although, reading over what I just wrote, that sounds kind of weird. BUT ANYWAYS...
Overall I love this poem,
You are meant to be a poet
I've been rhyming all day long
Maybe I'll turn it into a song!
Happy Reading, Happy RevMo, Happy Writing, and Happy Poetry!
Love,
YOUR BESTEST BESTEST BESTIE,
CATS
