I'm perfect the way I am.
My tiny almond shaped eyes,
my tanned skin,
my soft plump lips,
and my oval shaped head,
All I ever used to see was the negative
my flaws,
my weaknesses,
my forehead which is too big for my face,
my curve less waist and shape
my skinny thighs
I heard the boys like them thick
I hate my feet
they wobble whenever I walk.
why, why, why
curse me with this body?
Why dear God, would you let me be this way?
I thought you loved me,
I thought you cared for me.
Looking back, I wish I was more grateful
Grateful for the form I have been graced with
Grateful for you dear God.
Though no one seems to stare
and admire me from afar
I love the way you made me.
Everyone, should love the way God made them
everyone is perfect just the way they are
in the image that God made them in.

Just leaving a little comment to say I really love the theme here. I also struggled with appreciation for how God made me, but I have grown to accept it-even love it! This is a great reminder that God created all of us unique according to his plan. Like you said, everyone should love the way that God made them.and its so sad when people get surgeries to replace God's unique design with artificial beauty.
Hi Dove, hope you're doing well

I thought I'd take a look at this poem to start the day.
I already like how you start strong and confident whith your first line.
But remember for oval-shaped you need a dash in between.
Hm I really do appreciate it when the narrator tells us all the good things about them. I like it less when they describe it as being grateful for a higher power. I think it's perfectly alright to be unhappy with certain features of yourself. Imperfections also make us human. It's just no good to wallow in self-pity, and better to learn to appreciate what you have
I love this poem for it's message that you get across with simplicity. At time I find myself cursing God for how I look for who I am. But like this poem shows realizing that you are good just the way you are is a powerful weapon. The way God made you is the way your destined to be, and you can't change that. You have to except it. And I, on one hand are far from excepting myself. But you made me start wanting to. Beautiful poem, my favorite part is "why, why, why/ curse me with this body/Why dear God would you let me be this way?"
Thank you for your review, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
