Chapter 2- The Heartz Chronicles

E - Everyone

In ...

It was a long ride home.

My mother didn't like to talk much when she was driving because she didn't want to hit anyone. I was grateful for the silence.

At home, I immediately went to my room. My stuffed animals were neatly arranged on my bed, and I even saw a new one.

It was a carrot Squishmellow. I smiled back at the plushie. I would make sure to say thank you to mom later at dinner.

After finishing some homework and doing nothing for 30 minutes, I decided to write. And not just my regular stories on Wattpad. No this was a personal story, a story that would be mine, with people in it who liked me no matter who I was.

This book series was The Heartz Chronicles. It was about a princess (now queen) Heartz, who had long pink hair, and glittery pink eyes. Whenever she opened her eyes, people would softly sigh with admiration. She had that effect on people.

Her husband, King Christopher the second was as extraordinary as his queen. He had handsome face, and when he flipped his long hair to the side, the ladies of the court would stutter and lose their balance.

And finally, their son, Prince Julian. He was but a child, 3 years of age. He had bright pink eyes, but they were a bit darker. He had growing brown hair just like his father, and a adorable little face that I liked to pinch softly all the time.

I had started writing this series a couple of months ago. Before I started writing about it, I had dreams that I was a princess and my best friend named Princess Heartz. We would go on adventures, explore her palace, and run in a sunflower field. I enjoyed those dreams, and I was determined to write about her and her family's story.

I had just finished writing a new chapter, my hand hovering over the last sentence, when the mirror across my desk shimmered strangely. The surface rippled like water, reflecting my room... then not my room.

Before I could react, a strong pull gripped me, like invisible hands yanking me forward. I tried to scream, but my voice became lost into the rushing wind of color and light. The world spun wildly, my vision blurring into streaks of pink and gold.

With a sudden thud, I landed on cool marble. My heart leapt into my throat. I was no longer in my bedroom. The room around me was vast, glittering, and somewhat familiar. The palace from my story—the one I had only imagined—was before me, more breathtaking than any dream.

A frantic voice cut through the stunned silence. "Julian! Hold still!"

I spun toward the source and froze. Princess Heartz, her pink hair whipping around her face, knelt over a small figure—her son, Prince Julian. His usual bright pink eyes now glowed with an eerie crimson hue, and his little face twisted unnaturally, almost inhuman. My stomach churned.

Heartz's hands shook as she tried to steady the little boy. "He's changing too fast... the darkness is spreading!"

I stumbled forward. "Princess Heartz! What's happening to him?"

Her gaze snapped to me, wide with shock. "You... you shouldn't be here! How did you—?"

"I—I don't know!" I stammered, still trying to comprehend what had just happened. "I was writing... and then the mirror..."

Heartz's eyes darted back to Julian, who now let out a low, chilling growl that made my blood run cold. His tiny hands were clenched, and his body shimmered with a dark, twisting energy. "He's... turning. If we don't act fast, he'll become something I cannot stop. Something evil."

I swallowed hard, my chest tightening. The story I had written—the world I had created—was no longer fiction. I was trapped inside it, witnessing the terror unfold. And the boy I had imagined as innocent and adorable was slowly becoming... the antichrist incarnate.

Heartz stood abruptly, her face pale but resolute. "Zissy... I need your help. You brought this story to life. Now you must help me save him before it's too late."

I took a shaky breath. My hands were trembling. And then everything blacked out.

Alrighty on to chapter 2.
Oh I rly like that her mom takes care of her and gives her plushies :3
Can relate to the doing nothing for 30 min xd Tho in stories it always looks way better if you write it out. Like “for thirty minutes” 😊

Ah sehr gut! You fixed the princess/queen thing. I like that xd

Might need the “than his mother’s” here: “but they were a bit darker.“
Something’s wrong with the grammar in this one: “I had dreams that I was a princess and my best friend named Princess Heartz.“

I kinda feels like your really wanted to finally get your MC into the other world. So idk why you wouldn’t want to cut a few more sentences out of your story and really focus on what Lissy should take into the new world? Like her feeling of isolation and resentment by being abandoned by her best friend? Her love for her mom, despite the flaws? These are the two things that shine most brightly when I think back on what I read so far. Instead of writing so many different things happening to your MC, key in to those two scene, properly set them with descriptions and …maybe delve more into her mental state before the mirror draws her into Heartz’ room?

Lissy’s reaction to the entire thing is also rather muted. I’m curious if there will be more in the next chapter.

I do find it really fascinating that Heartz knows exactly who Lissy is and immediately knows to ask her for help. But hmmm how can Lissy help now? I do wonder if she can still influence the story by writing or if she needs to rely on the lore she established. Or if everything she hasnt thought of so far is out of her control and the world lives and breathes now without her input. All interesting stuff.

Hello there, human! I'm reviewing using the YWS S'more Method today!

Shalt we commence with the dastardly S’more?

Top Graham Cracker - Zissy comes home after school to very lovely stuffed animals and even gets a carrot Squishmallow! Later, she does her homework because she is very studious and afterwards, she writes to her heart’s content! But then, a portal in her mirror opens and she is whisked away into her story, where Prince Julian has some kind of curse on him! Oh no!

Slightly Burnt Marshmallow - I have no recommendations to make as of right now, but if you would like to edit this, then you may.

Chocolate Bar - I like how you describe Zissy as being appreciative of the toys that her Mom got her, it shows that she’s a caring person. The part about her writing “The Heartz Chronicles” was a very cool title drop, but also, relatable, because we all want to write stories where we feel powerful, right? The descriptions of the royal family was very detailed, I especially like that Queen Heartz has long pink hair. Pink hair is so awesome! Finally, the mirror that teleports Zissy to the world of her story gives off a very Alice in Wonderland vibe that I am SO here for!

Closing Graham Cracker - Overall, a fantastical chapter of how fiction infuses into reality. Whenever you post more chapters, I’ll be certain to read them. I do hope that this darkness doesn’t completely destroy Prince Julian and that Zissy and Queen Heartz will be able to help him. I also hope that Zissy’s friendship drama in the real world gets solved, but alas, I must wait. Now…

I wish you a magnificent day/night! ^v^

Thank you so much for your review!><

You%u2019re welcome! ^v^

How does Zissy's relationship with her mom influence her journey into the world of "The Heartz Chronicles"?

@Drift Boss Do the toys her mom gives her play any role in the fantasy world she enters?
