I have cried the most
on cloudless, sunny days
I have felt the worst
on my own birthdays
I have felt the ugliest
in my best satin gown
My face has looked the prettiest
when the tears are running down
I have been cat-called
in the middle of a temple
I have felt the least
in the face of my greatest achievement
I have raged the most
at the most insignificant inconvenience
I have been able to breathe the best
when I am underwater, floating, free
It is in the dirtiest pond
that I see me clearly
It is through the cheapest camera
where I have taken my best picture
It is holding the runner-up certificate
that I have felt most like a failure
It is them who I love most in the world
that gave me my greatest pain
It is them I felt I belonged to
ones who felt the most shame
It is on an average Wednesday afternoon
that I realize
life is a stupid fucking irony
wrapped up as a stupid fucking surprise.

I am impressed with this poem.
For real. It has potential. Them last 3 lines completely caught me out of guard.
I might need to read everything you posted because this write here has me wanting to read me.
Keep writing. One day you will be famous for your poetry.
well done!
this is so good!
a wednesday in my life is such a brilliant name,
I really felt the depth and the power of this poem.
its really great.
I liked that you added "fucking" in the last two sentences. It made it seem careless, Like you decided that none of the things you wrote, matters.
I really liked the rhymes, they were very satisfying and really tied the whole thing together,
it is a very real poem, which I think many people will find relateable
I look forward to reading more of your works in the future
much love <333

i love the contradictions you placed here and the every-other-line subtle rhyme scheme. remind me to review this later
Hi, okay. So, I can't really put a line down that I loved specifically as I love it all, and the lived-in way that a reader can see clearly. This si the kind of writing that makes a reader feel less alone, powerful and really reaches out to them. I love that. Your powerful voice shows how strong these experiences are..and the thing is plenty of people experience it without recognising it how tough and shitty it is. But this sheds light on that. I especially love:
"I have been cat-called
in the middle of a temple
I have felt the least
in the face of my greatest achievement
I have raged the most
at the most insignificant inconvenience"
Like yesss, drag society for what happened to that little girl. Oh, and your profile pic is so beautiful by the way.
Thanks a lot for your heartfelt review! I wanted to capture some experiences of my life that defined my girlhood which could resonate within others as like a shared mockery of difficult experiences. Also the pfp is tatooine from star wars! <3
