Okay joos since you're basically one of my best friends and favorite people I of course had to review something of yours, but I'm bad at this so be warned.
EYES
(looking at descriptions)
Okay I have no idea what it means, but the painting is beautiful. Lots of colors used. Your heart feels blue? Blue often means sadness, but in your case maybe it means something else.. Ha. I have no idea. YOU WRITE SO PRETTILY. My writing apparently speaks to you, and your writing speaks to me, too. I like how fall falls.. (Sorry I know I'm vague when I'm in reviewing poet mode) Whoa. A year ago, almost all of this would have forced me to whip out the dictionary, especially gossamer sheen.

EARS
(Looking at dissonants because nothing is ever truly a mistake.)
No spelling mistakes noticed.

And now for my favorite part:
HEART
(Saying something nice!)
JOOS, GO WRITE A POETRY BUNDLE. I'M SURE PEOPLE'D LOVE IT. I, FOR ONE, WOULD.
IT rHyMEs. A LOT OF THIS ACTUALLY RHYMES. HOW.
I STAND BY MY WORD. JOOS SMART. VERY SMART.
Is your offer to marry me still open? If not, I'll have to do the proposal myself: JOOS. MARRY ME.

Hi eucalyptusjoos! Here to write another review!

✦ Upon first look at this piece, the capitalization of the words clearly feels very intentional. This poem is meant to feel and appear larger than typical poems. This is accompanied by the title Journey to the End of My Soul which instantly sets the reader up for something grand and almost fantastical. Something beautiful about poetry is how many emotions can be shown just through the appearance of the words themselves. You notice how poems with intentional lowercase, or smaller font, or compact lines, feels smaller and portrays the narrator feeling insignificant in a way. On the other hand, this poem feels larger than life, so let's get on to the actual content of the poem!

✦ This poem is so fun. I love the use of language and imagery of the sky and nature. This poem feels like a breath of fresh air itself. It's different and is full of color and life. I really enjoy the moments of rhyme, and that the rhyme is random and inconsistent. It gives the sense that the poem mirrors the randomness of life itself, with the capitalization, line breaks, visual representation of "fall," and the sporadic rhyme couplets littered throughout. You use phrases of images that aren't typically used in poetry, like: "gossamer sheen," "tempest winds," and "Cheshire clouds." It feels almost whimsical in a way, yet simultaneously grounded and human.

This is such a cool and interesting poem. I'm glad you're sharing so much work on YWS and I look forward to reading more!
Much love, G<3

thanks for your review!
