A2614-Alice and the aliens

*This origin is under my folder titled “Alice and the aliens”. Gacha Club character designs are under my forum titled “My character designs<33”. Enjoy!*

A gaunt, lime green-skinned boy stood in a field of tall, brown-gray grass, reaching his long, slender claws towards the pink early dawn sky. His name was A2614 and he was outside, getting food from the sun.

The sun’s energy dipped deep into his skin, running warm throughout his veins. It tasted sweet with love, like how he imagined candy on Earth to taste like. He had only heard a little bit about Earth, but it sounded like such a fascinatingly boring place that he actually wanted to go there someday!

Another thing that he heard about Earth was how the plants down there ate from the energy of the sun, that they ate in a manner called “photosynthesis”, which A2614 supposed was what the humans would call the way he ate.

Either way, it was pretty cool that he ate like plants, even though the plants in Earth didn’t have tiny silver sparks in them, like the tall grass in his home planet, Somniat Memoria, that swayed all around him, he still thought that it would be interesting to visit Earth one day. He read about all the planets in his books and honestly, he wanted to visit all of them! The universe was so vast and filled with many possibilities that he hoped he’d get to explore it with his family, that-

A whirring, buzzing noise interrupted A2614 from his morning breakfast. The noise was coming from right behind him, so he turned around and…

There was a silver aircraft shaped like the letter “E”. It was shaped just like the rest of the aircraft on Somniat Memoria, except it was much bigger than his pastel yellow painted house, a sign that it was an absorption vampire ship. The absorption vampires were a group of vampire-like creatures who sucked blood from people just by staring at them. They only searched for victims at night, but it was almost daytime, which meant…oh no…

A2614 lowered his hands and swallowed nervously. They weren’t just any absorption vampires, they were the group of absorption vampires called “Life Seekers”, who were always trying to create new technology to take blood and were looking for planets that had the most life, so they could take all of the blood for themselves. His parents had warned him about them, had even spoken out publicly against them and…

His parents! The beam of warm orange light coming from the aircraft was blasting through the windows in the house, which was a new type of technology that the Life Seekers used to suck blood, which meant-oh no-oh-

In an instant, his older sister, B392, picked him up and ran with him in her arms. A2614 tried pushing himself away from her, he even yelled at her to let him go so he could at least try and do something against the Life Seekers, because he couldn’t just let their parents die, he had to try and fight them, but as they ran, she kept telling him: “We can’t stop. It’s not safe.”

But were their parents okay? Why weren’t they joining him and B392?

Hello again! Here to review using my Pumpkin Pie Method. Let's do it!

The crust (the foundation):

1. I love that this story is from B392's little brother's POV.

2. The character introduction feels smooth and transitions well with the last story.

The Filling (the body of your piece):

1. I love the way you give us insight to how these creatures eat and what they think about Earth.

2. His horror when he sees the ship was well written.

The whipped cream...only one spray? (here's what I noticed):

1. Not sure if I missed the explanation somewhere else, but is there a reason why the ship is shaped like an "E"? Just curious.

Overall, great story. Looking forward to reading the rest of this series.
Ciao!!!

Not any particular reason, I just wanted to be different lol.

Thank you for reading!

Well as a representative from Team Aliens I just had to review this one when I saw it in the Green Room! I'm not sure which part it was, but I remember reading another section of this story before, so I'm at the very least a little familiar with the characters and setting this time around!

He had only heard a little bit about Earth, but it sounded like such a fascinatingly boring place that he actually wanted to go there someday!

Haha! My guess is A2614's life is so excessively chaotic that a boring planet would be a nice change of pace for him. I love his naive and curious voice.

Another thing that he heard about Earth was how the plants down there ate from the energy of the sun, that they ate in a manner called “photosynthesis”, which A2614 supposed was what the humans would call the way he ate.

As usual, your worldbuilding is natural and character-focused. Well done!

My main critique for this chapter would be to stretch out the pacing of the last scene more. I want to dwell longer in that sense of dread that the absorption vampires bring. Maybe spend an extra beat or two on A2614's emotions surrounding his parents and what might happen to them before he gets swept away by his sister.

Well done overall, as always!

Schadenfreude!

This is a great sci-fi tale. It has a vivid description which is intriguing. For example where you talk about the grass and energy in here. I also love the emotional weight when A2614 realizesthat his parents might be in danger and the struggle with his sister. Overall building of this world was very engaging for me to read. The sudden attack of the life seekers makes me want to read more and keeps me hooked. Great work! I hope to read more of your works. I enjoyed this one a lot.

I%u2019m glad you liked this! You can read more under my folder titled %u201CAlice and the aliens%u201D.
