Rodeo

In Early Works

The restless soul will follow me,
Though they may try to hide or flee.

In the end, you will see,
They always end up back with me.

The satisfied with run and hide,
They say the never will with me abide.

That they'll never be trapped at my side,
But with a partner, until they've died.

'To have and to hold' what a wonderful phrase,
To bind them all of thier days.

The think they'll be happier, and that they will be,
But the restless soul who follows me,
Alas, will never see.

Riding and falling are part of the game,
Most people conclude that they are insane.

Insane they must be,
But oh for the sweet taste of victory.

To hear the crowds cheer,
Is what they hold most dear.

They have aught but a burning need within,
To feel the fierey rush of thier adrenaline.

All jacked up on beer and cheap cigarettes,
They're sure to win all of thier bets.

Hey there, ShadowVyper! It's Vilnius back with another review for you today!

What I Like
I love how consistent and smooth your rhyme scheme is! None of it seems forced to me, and I think it fits in well.

I also like how you never use the word "rodeo" but that (ignoring the title =P) the reader can infer that it is, in fact, a rodeo!

What I Dislike
The line "They always end up back with me" sounds a bit odd; maybe try "They always end up again with me"? It's not perfect, but I think it sounds a little better and more natural.

You have some comma/period errors scattered throughout which can be fixed with a quick, tidy skim.

I hope you have a nice [*insert time of day here*]!!!

I love the writing style; there's something dark about it; almost slightly cynical, maybe? I applaud you for sticking to your rhyme scheme. It added a new level to the poem.

Unfortunately, especially in the first half, there were a lot of spelling mistakes that not only were distracting, but a bit confusing. I'd suggest maybe double-checking it again for spelling mistakes.

It's a bit strange that you say in the first stanza that the restless soul will hide and flee, then in the third stanza, you say the satisfied will run and hide. I'd consider changing this; at least one of the hides.

Really great poem; there was something simple about the way it was written in tiny little stanzas, but then there's something really deep about it and works together to be an awesome poem.

How the title works with the poem could be a bit more evident.

Good job and hope this review helped.

This is good. Really good. I'ts hard to make a poem like that. I like the way you never actually say the word rodeo, but in the end you understand that it is.

It builds up pretty nice, and I can see you have written poems before. I feel the same as the narrator. A few tupos, but no real problems. I love it.

9/10
