Chapter Nine: Bethany (Duh-Duh-Duuuuuhhhhh!!!!)
The moment I saw her, I knew that she was terrible. She had dark grey hair that was rolled up into a bun. However, that didn’t work very well for her because her hair was still splayed around messily like a broken cocoon. She had tight, thin lips and piercing black eyes that I swore could tear my soul to shreds. Her ears appeared pointed, but were strangely pinned to her hair with bobby pins. She had long, bony fingers that I could imagine strangling someone way clearly than was mentally healthy. Finally, she wore all black. Everything. Black, black, black. Wait, was that a bit of brown? Nope. Black.
“Last two bites then outside!” Her voice was sharp and threatening like a wolf’s ferocious growl in the bottom of a huge helium tank.
My cabin mates and I ran out of the mess along with everyone else. Everyone was in a huge rush. People tripped over feet, spoons were thrown to the floor, a few frightened tears were shed—everything! Everyone carried an air of such panic that it was impossible not to feel worried or somewhat concerned.
My legs shook and I could feel my vision go blurry a few times from fear. What was this woman going to do to us? Why did she want us outside in such a rush? Was she always that scary? A million worries shrouded my mind as I hustled outside into the warm summer air. We all formed a crowd around the scary woman who was standing on one of the benches around the fire pit. She was flanked by the man known as Al and a young woman with cherry red hair.
“You’re all here. Excellent,” the woman announced. “Welcome to another fine summer at Citric Acid Lake Arts Camp. Each and every one of you have signed up for one of the programs that the camp offers: art, theatre, and music. You have already met your fellow campers in your program, so we will no longer wait for introductions to be made amongst your cabin.
“As our returning campers already know, I am Head Councillor Bethany.” She gestured to Al. “This is General Councillor All and,” she gestured to the woman beside her, “General Councillor Lucy.
“Now you know, new people. What you should also know is that we don’t only do activities that involve the arts. We do many things like swimming, arts and crafts, cooking, survival training, canoeing, tag, and,” she held up three different coloured scarves, “Capture the flag.”

Hey, Holographic! I'm back here with another review.
All in all, this chapter was pretty short. Which isn't really a big deal, it just means that's a bit more difficult to review than normal because there isn't really all that much to talk about. This chapter introduced someone important, explained a bit of the camp, and that's about it. While did make capture the flag seem like some huge thing (which it probably will be in later chapters), that's all I really took away from this.
As far as the first paragraph goes, it went a bit heavy on the fact that in this world black = bad. Or at least, gives the appearance of harshness of unpleasantness. If I had any money to bet at this point, I would bet that Bethany would be the antagonist in some way, shape, or form. Everything about this character screams dramaticness, antagonism, and the way that her dress is talked about is so comical. It seems like you're aiming for funnyness, but the symbolism felt a bit too heavy in that regard.
Her voice was threatening like a ... wolf at the bottom of a helium tank? Wouldn't that be more funny than threatening? Honestly, that blemished her scary image for me. All I could really think about that she sounded high on helium, even though that's not the case. xD
According to a previous chapter, Rowan was the only person there from the previous years. From appearance alone, Bethany doesn't really sound like a person to be all that scared of yet. All of this fear seems really misplaced.
That's really all I have to say for this chapter! It was short, sweet, and to the point for the most part. I do hope that you'll keep on writing!

Hey HolographicLadybug! CHRISSY321 here again to review!
This was a great chapter-but you did not explain why they got glared at in the last chapter when they got into the mess hall! I am still confused! There was only one thing you need to fix:
It is supposed to be Councillor Al XD (darn you auto correct!!)
I loved this. I thought it was really funny, and it what great that you did not just stop with 'she wore all black', and so you added humor to it-which was genius!
Over all I think this was great ! Time to keep reading!
