can anyone see me
for who i am or am
i stuck staring at my
reflection?
trying to grab
someone's attention with
dots and dashes that are drawn in lipstick
stains across the mirror.
can anyone hear me
or am i a tree falling in a forest
when no one's around?
i can't remember what
love sounds like or how the warm
a touch of someone is.
can anyone believe me or
am i a work of fiction being
read to the masses?
my story is colored in tears
that soak the pages and heartstrings
hold them together.
i wait around for the answer to
all my questions but i never get it--
a ghost locked inside her shell.

Hello Adrian here to review your poem
this is a good poem and i love what you're trying to get across i just feel that the flow could have been better.
here's what i didn't like about this poem
"can anyone see me
for who i am or am
i stuck staring at my
reflection?"
personally i feel like you should have formatted it this way
"can anyone see me
for who i am
or am i stuck
staring at my reflection?"
then there's this stanza
"trying to grab
someone's attention with
dots and dashes that are drawn in lipstick
stains across the mirror. "
i think this should've been formatted like this
" trying to grab
someone's attention
with dots and dashes
that are drawn
in lipstick stains across the mirror"
and so on and so forth with following stanzas, just to try and help the flow.
also a thing i didnt quite understand is why you italicized certain stanzas?
is there a reason why?
now here's what i liked about your poem.
i like how you typed this poem, all lower case and no real form of punctuation.
it lowkey reminded me of rupi kaur and for that i salute you.
i also liked the message you got across, it's very clear what you mean.
but yeah great poem, i look forward to reading more from you in the future.
happy writing and have a grand and spooky halloween!!

I really liked this poem! This is ZeldaIsShiek, the legendary reviewer of epicness and overcomplicated reviews that don't actually help anyone but are long and fun to write! Today I will be analyzing your writing skills and determining the quality of your poem using careful methods such as using big words and quoting lines. Let's begin!
First, I noticed the reference to Ghost in the Shell, a movie based off of an anime that most of you probably know about by now. This reference actually helped me understand what the true meaning of this poem was. The more I thought about it, the more the reference made sense! It was all clear to me... This poem is about someone trapped inside their own shell of self-doubt and irrational fear! A ghost without a key!
The lines of the poem, "can anyone see me for who i am or am i stuck staring at my reflection?" caught my eye as soon as I read the poem for the first time. It is incredible that you created such a great parody of the doubt one experiences when they realize that it is in fact quite possible that they are the only ones who truly see themselves. Though this poem is amazing and the reference is great, I can't fully decipher this poem because it is above me. It escalates above my Earthly understanding, leaving me with a feeling I have not had for many years; a feeling of ignorance and inability. And point of the Witches! Happy Review Day, and keep writing! 'Cause You're pretty dang good at it. ZeldaIsShiek- Out!
Hello there and happy RevMo (even if I am a bit late to the reviewing party)! I, a bold Knight of the Green Room, am here today to review you.
I haven't read/watched/whatevered the thing you cited this as being based off of in the description, so I'm going into this pretty blind, and if I miss something, it's probably because of that.
With that said, I did spot a Mulan and Ghost in the Shell set of references, and I thought that the use of the common-knowledge things in the middle two question stanzas were pretty neat. I did think the fact or fiction stanza was phrased a bit strangely since people can believe pretty much anything, and so it makes more sense to ask "will anyone believe..." I noticed that you started each of the question stanzas with "can", and while that touch of consistency is nice, it just doesn't make sense in this case, so you can either nix the "can" in that stanza or rework the question so that it makes more sense as a question of possibility. Something like "can I expect someone to believe me or..."
This stanza here also runs into the issue of not quite making sense. The first part of love sounding like makes sense, but "the warm a touch" is where things get lost.
I liked the image here of Morse code on the glass, but the "stains" completely breaks the flow, and it's a bit redundant with the "lipstick" right there. I would also recommend playing around with the enjambment a bit more, with a break at "drawn in / lipstick" being a bit more conceptually interesting if you look at each line individually in addition to reading them together.
The breaks in this piece overall are a bit bland. They don't hurt the poem, but they don't really add any layers of meaning, either, and I think you could take the breaks one step further and play around with them a bit more to add in a few more layers and make this a bit more messy in that regards.
First thoughts, formatting a weird. I don't know why you're using the italics like that. Also, typos are rampant, but those don't degrade your message.
The flow is weird. Usually lines are meant to show what goes together. Try reading it with little pauses between the lines, a lot of it feels off.
Here the flow is alright, but putting in a forest in the third line could make it feel better. I really like the saying you put in here.
'or how the warm a touch of someone is'? I think you mean how warm the touch of someone is.
I like the feel, make sure to go back and capitalize the I's, and check for grammar and typos as always. Try getting the flow to feel a bit smoother.
Happy Scribing!
