E - Everyone

In Longer Poetry

Written by Sarah, in a notebook:

"If I died today, I'd be happy. I have nothing left to live for, nothing left to prove."

Lock the doors and hide the key
Close the blinds so you can't see
The evil beyond these walls
Never ever speak of it
Just stay here and sit
Or just roam the empty halls

I want you to toss out the syringe
Don't let it be your life's hinge
There's more to love than that
You've got a family of your own
Your kids are almost grown
Don't let their hopes fall flat

Please, let me go
Forget all that you know
About me, because I'm dead
You both should continue
Do not start anew
Or you'll be misled

Mommy, I hated your drugs
And that you ignored my hugs
But you're forgiven
Father, you walked away
And left me here to stay
But so long as you're living

Even though my life was hell
All I can say is "Oh Well"
Because it's over now
I'm not even mad
In fact, I'm glad
On my grave, I vow

Greetings wtppowers! The Wandering Wizard here for a review day review!
You don't know how glad I am to see a "normal" poem with a set rhythm and rhyme. The people on this website just love their free verse poems. Thank you for being remotely normal. :-)
This clearly an extremely personal AND emotional piece, and clearly means something very important to you. But the way how you captivated me from the first word was astounding. I am glad that I stumbled upon this poem.
The last stanza was the light at the end of the tunnel (to me). Even though the girl commited suicide, the fact that she had found peace before she died brought a tear to my eye.
This is a very emotional, personal and extraordinary piece.I therefore rate it with a staggering 9.5 out of ten. *gives standing ovation* Brilliant!!!
Sincerely,
The Wandering Wizard

It sucks that poetry can bring out the worse in things and sometimes the best.
The poem was really depressing and at the same time peaceful.
I like how in the end, you forgive all the wrong was done to you. Because you know you're getting something better out of it.

I'm not sure if you're feeling that way. But no one writes poems like that without a similar feeling to their work.
I saw no wrong in this, grammar. spelling. It was good
It was beautiful and thank you for sharing that poem with us.

Awww, thanks!

This poem was very powerful. It was clear how personal this poem was to you and that just made this poems message all that more moving. We all want our last words to inspire other people. We want the last thing that leaves our mouths to be remembered by our loved ones. When I die and go to wherever I want to know that I did something to impact someone, or anyone for that matter! It's human nature to want to be remembered, and a good portion of us will be. It's how we are remembered that we can help our loved ones decide today, not on our deathbeds.

It is a happiness to wonder; it is a happiness to dream.
— Edgar Allan Poe
