Writer's Block

I want to write a poem,

But I do not know what about.

My brain is full of mist,

And my ideas full of doubt.

Inspiration comes difficultly

In this page that's full of white.

So I write a different poem

'Bout a poem I didn't write.

Hello Alfonso! Good Luck with Review Day!

Every writer has experienced Writer's Block at one point or another, so it's easy for everybody on this site to relate to.

I love the tune that instantly popped into my head as I wrote it! It's like a nursery rhyme that you sing, like "Old King Cole". It's just so playful and unique! I love, love, love it!

The rhythm is perfect and your rhyme isn't forced! So thumbs-up to you for conquering the dreaded writers block and writing something masterful!

Happy Review Day!

Haha, clever. I really liked it. I can't see any obvious grammatical, punctuation, or spelling errors, so that's a good sign. :) I guess I'll get right to it then.

Like most early writers, you are wordy. When you say, "But I do not know what about." you could just as easily say, "But I don't know what about." Read it with the rest of the poem out loud so you can hear the difference. With fewer words, your poem will, in most cases, flow much smoother and sound much better.

"Inspiration comes difficultly" In this case, I would be tempted to say "Inspiration comes with difficulty" It's a word longer (something I just advised you to avoid doing), but adding the 'with' makes it sounds better and flow smoother...that's my opinion anyhow, you might disagree and that's totally fine by me. :)

Once again, I loved the clincher. It was nicely put and perfectly structured. And although I don't normally approve of colloquialism, saying 'Bout' instead of 'About' was probably what made me want to reread your poem.

Anyhow. Good luck to you! Keep up the good work!

Thank you! And happy Review Day!

Haha, same to you! :)

Cool I really like this poem!! I see no errors in the poem so that's great!! I love how you wrote about Writer's Block. I get it ALOT so what you say in this poem is exactly how I fell about not knowing what to write and doubting my ideas. Also, your rhyming is awesome. I especially like this part,

"Inspiration comes difficultly

In this page that's full of white.

So I write a different poem

'Bout a poem I didn't write."

Everything flows together smoothly and you ended it good. Overall I think you did a great job!!!! Keep writing! :)

For having Writer's block, you can sure write well! :P
Everything rhymes superrrr well. Each other one rhymes, right? The only thing that I can see are a few commas, as blimeylimey said. The next time you have writers block, please post again!! :)

Thank you! I will. Except I can't write the se things every time I have writer's block.. I'll have to find some new excuses...

Hey there my friend! I really loved this poem! I didn't see anything coherently wrong with it either! Well done! It was simple and cute and a great way to slap writers block in the face and write anyways! ;) The rhyming and rhythm was superb! The only thing that I thought of was that you need a comma at the end of the first and third line. Marvelous work! Keep up the good work! I look forward to reading more of your works in the future!

Hey! I really liked this, it was simple but clever and it had a good flow to it. I wrote a similar poem when I had writer's block; it was called "What!?". You should check it out. Isn't it interesting what things we come up with when we have writers block? I don't see any grammar or spelling errors. I think that "My brain is full of mist, And my ideas full of doubt" Are somewhat repetitive, but you can't really tell as you read through it. So, this poem was clever but just look into the repetitiveness. Good job!

I feel like it will be absolute hotdog water, but oh well. It's just a draft.
