The Brightest Night

The Brightest Night

Light goes out and darkness comes,

Monsters run around in a pack,

A sinister melody through the wind hums,

And shivers run down my back.

It's a time of joy and a time of fear,

Creatures roaming through the night,

The full moon appears as the sky goes clear,

The darkest black and the brightest white.

The fangs, the claws, the hate, the love,

A Joker, a Jack, a King, a Queen,

The human, the demon, the crow, the dove,

Only in the night of Halloween.

Hey, there, Alfonso! FireFox here to review on behalf of the Apple Dumpling Gang! To begin, I have to say: I love this piece!

I think you did a fantastic job capturing the essence of Halloween! It's one of my favorite holidays and you most definitely did it justice! Your lines flow nicely and there is no awkward rhyming and nothing sounds forced, which is wonderful. My favorite lines would have to be the last four. I love the comparison of the fangs, claws, hate, and love, the joker, jack, king, and queen, and the human, demon, crow, and dove! Those were so very clever to include! I feel that you could elaborate more on this piece! It almost seems like the prologue of a horror story! If you ever decide to expand on this, please let me know! There is a lot that you could do with this, and I look forward to reading more of your work.

Thanks FireFox!

Heya, I'm EmoChikXoX and I'm going to try and reveiw your poem!

Firstly, I like your theme. Its original, and I think you wrote this poem at the perfect time with the halloween vibe still buzzing around. The poem starts off really rarther well but I think it started to faulter just a little towards the end.

I don't really like the listing that you have done towards the end, especially the part about the king and queen, and the love and the dove part... it dosnt really relate to your theme. Maybe you should have stuck to the sentences, but thats my personal opinion. But don't get me wrong the poem is really good :)

But anyways no punctuation or gramatical errors that I can see, or spellings either, so well done! :) You're a good poet, a really good poet so keep it up!

Happy writing! :)

Thank you! I'll take that into consideration for next time I write.

Wow a brilliant description on Halloween

Wow! I really liked this! It was short but flowed amazingly. Poems like this are what inspire me to continue writing. A very nice poet you are indeed.

Thanks a lot! I'm glad you appreciate it.

If it wasn't for poetry, I couldn't express myself.
