Little Red Writing Hood

In Stuff from a while ago

Little Red Writing Hood
Was strolling through a forest.
A place within her mind,
Where no one else could find her.

The only person who could haunt her
Was the Big Bad Wolf,
The monster inside her.

The block that keeps her words from flowing
Out of her head and onto a page.
The wolf is her doubt, her fear.
The worry that keeps her in her forest.

Little Red Writing Hood
Just needs a friend to break the gap
Between the forest and reality.

To tell her the truth
That her words are wonderful.
So that the wolf will go away,
Even if it's only for a short while.

Little Red Writing Hood
Needs her knight
To come and save her
From her very own self.
The worst foe she will ever face.

i think you should put a slight rhyme to it. It is really good without it as well but maybe make it half and half. If you need a little help you could talk to me and i could give a little help. lets help teammates out right? :P
other than that i love this! i really appreciate having this for the team because then we have work to also represent the team :) and i like having many things represent our team especially when its my first ever review day and ya :) so good job

Hey! ajruby here for a quick review.

I'm a loyal Red team member, so I really appreciated this! (And also outside of loyalty, I love it as well.)
A few things though that could use some improvement.

1. This could be better (in my opinion) with some rhyming thrown in. It would make it stupendously marvelous!

2. "Little Red Writing Hood
Was strolling through a forest.
A place within her mind,
Where no one else could find her." Was the forest in her mind? I was a little confused on that part.

All together, I love this! (Have I said that already?) Keep up the amazing work!

Happy review day and may the reviews be ever in your favour!

Hi! I hope to come back and review this later, but I don't really have any nitpicks so I might not... suffice it to say I loved this. It was so well-written, the metaphor is awesome, and I loved that you were able to do this with our team name! Great work. :)

I loved this poem. I'm a majestic Icicle, however, I liked this.

I definitely thought this piece applies to most writers. So bravo. Your rhythm and flow were nice, and I liked the concept. I always have a few nitpicks.

The last stanza. Little Red doesn't have a knight in her story. I don't think it's appropriate to add in a knight because in the story, she's supposed to be a little girl. Maybe you could say she needs somebody to save her from herself. I feel like when you say she needs a knight, you're implying that she needs a relationship which I don't think is what you were trying to convey.

I also think stanzas four and five should go together because they kinda have the same concept. They also relate to each other, and I feel that separating disrupts the flow. As with stanza four and five, I feel like stanzas two and three should also go together for the same reasons.

Other than that, I have no nitpicks. I hope this review helped, and I loved this poem. Keep Writing, and have a good review day!

Thank you. :)
Actually, I once had heard a version where at the end the Big Bad Wolf ate her whole, and then a knight came a killed the wolf in time to save her. But here are a lot of different versions of the story.

Ah. That makes more sense. It's just that this piece is a metaphor so it seems like you're saying a writer needs a relationship to save them from themselves.

Hey WritingWolf!

What a cute little poem! I really liked “Little Red Writing Hood”, and it matches nicely with the review team as well! I also liked the idea of the scary wolf which was naturally associated with writer’s block. ;)

For this type of poem, rhymes might be a nice extra touch? It’s up to you, of course, but I was wanting some consistency that I think could be created with the aforementioned rhymes or then just a neat and tidy rhythm. The lines are currently quite different lengths, which makes the poem sound a bit messy - a shame, because the idea is so quirky and lovely! It’s not an unforgivable choice or anything, but maybe you’ll agree that when you read the poem out loud, you can’t really grasp a red thread.

I was also thinking that wouldn’t it be lovely if the Little Red Writing Hood actually made friends with the wolf, so she wouldn’t have to be afraid anymore? :D This is naturally just a thought, but maybe it was triggered by the bit with the knight and how I was taken aback since Little Red Riding Hood didn’t really ever have a character like that. But that’s probably a bit far out!

I thought this was really nice, though. :D Very sweet!

Thanks for the review. :)
How is it I knew someone would suggest putting a rhyme to it? I guess I should, just for practice. I tend to struggle with rhyming.
But again, thank you. :)
