Curiosity killed the cat.
Satisfaction brought it back.
There is a reason these words have been said,
a reason you clicked here, infact.
I laugh because you fell for it.
I grin because it was easy.
A reaction of humans, a reflex
I fully expected to see.
Do not be angry, I mean no harm.
I have watched for 13 years,
Watched the ways of the world,
And I find that we twist up our fears.
Afraid we will miss out,
If we follow the rules.
Intead we seem childish
and we look like such fools.
Maybe I am just strange,
different to the extreme.
But I still see patterns in how you all act,
Outlandish and cruel they may seem.
Curiosity killed the cat,
satisfaction won't do any good.
Get over your stupid defiance.
Go do something you should.

Ha! I love this! Well played, my friend, well played.
Lol I love this poem, it's so clever. Human nature strikes again. If we see something that is meant to stay off limits or forbidden of course we're gonna check it out!! Love it! XD
That's so PERFECT!!
It's short, funny, simple and absolutely true!
And the tittle...Oh, the tittle...It's so good. I mean, if you want someone to do something, tell him/her not to do it. And the poem just reassures it.
Congratulations!
Keep writing.
Firstly, I am extremely impressed with your writing style, if not just for the fact that you are thirteen years old. Clever title, it was the very first place my eyes looked and my click followed suit. I was pleasently surprised that what I read was actually quite great! Your brief poem made me think about human nature and how funny it actually is! Well done.
Hahaha I love this poem. It made me feel stupid. It's a cute piece of work and I love how many people fell for it. No criticism at all. It really made me laugh.

Love, fruity!
I must be a rebel, because I have seen this title ever since it was first featured, but I never felt compelled to click it at all. This si my first time reading it actually. I like being my own indidvidual and follow the rules lol. But your peom is true, and it really is wonderful!
Haha! its genius!
And so this is amusing and concerning.
This is hardly a poem, it's in fact, barely one. It's didactic and preachy, moralizing almost while wearing the proverbial sheep's clothing, and, the creature inside? Silenus. Understand my reference is an effort to show the perspective of what this poem really appears beyond a curiosity and gimmick.
Taking the poem apart line by line is pointless, as the premise is essentially "I'm clever, I'm using a fallacy to sound wise", and yeah. Cool. Let's all clap for you, or not.
A poem is not lecturing me or informing me, nor is it teaching me or telling me what to think; sure, you can argue you see these, but good poems show for the most part, and then tell a little in order to progress a story. Really, quite simple, but hard to do in practice.
As is, these are lines stacked on lines attempting to be smart. If you did this as an experiment, why didn't you make this a blog? Or, rather were you trying to show something about the like system in relation to curiosity? Well, again I clap once for you. And that's it. To some, poems like these are insulting in their arrogance and complete lack of regard for the reader. And we as writers have to move past ourselves and our petty desires and wants and actually show something that is both interesting and tangible, allowing the reader to approach the work and make their own decisions.
So this is cute, yes, but that's it; the final message is all that gives a piece like this any weight, and even then it's pretty light. My advice? Don't write these in the future. You need to show, not tell us what to think. Had you shown why curiosity can be harmful...maybe. But then you need to avoid being naive. A tough task.
Hope this helps.
wow dude!!! This was awesome and brilliant and I absolutely loved it!!!! Well done mate!!:)
Hi,
I love your poem. It's creative, brilliant, and different! It's really surprising that such a young girl like you can write so well. Your observation about curiosty is also very keen.
But I detect a sarcasm in your writing. 13 years is not 130 years. You still have a long way to go! I personally am against angry writers.
This is just my personal opinion, though. They say once the poem is out of the poet's hand, it's all about the reader's interpretation. Please just tell me if I misinterpreted it.
omg this is an amazing poem! the title really drew me in and i really like how you start the poem with the old saying "curiosity killed the cat, satisfaction brought him back" it really made me want to read more and figure out why you started the poem with this line..well more like these lines but i really like it! keep writing!
hehehe VousExEtonnant, you are one sneaky character. Sneaky, mischievous, and rather clever if I can admit.

You have successfully and bravely summed up human psychological behaviour in this down-to-earth honest-to-God poem.
I’m just trying to work out is it actually scary that everything you say is actually right from the word Go... or “curiosity” in this case.
Very well written, very cleverly devised, and a lot of human nature can be seen in this.
Great use of observational comedy.
Just to add on to “WriterMajorInRomance”’s comment, what a prank. But it was a great prank, and thankyou for letting us fall for it.
] whoa, first of all.. I hate you. I hate you for letting me fall into this prank!
hahaha! Seriously, I love this poem, you got me caught here, and read more than what I expected! Haha! I felt stupid, predictable, yet all I can do is laugh XD hahaha!
I won't lie I have also observed the odd tendency of humanity to do the opposite of what they are told and I rather hate to do this but a far older poet has already written this observation may haps you have heard of Ishmael Reed. He wrote of a poems legendary hunger and similar to yours it drew readers in with almost no hope of escape. Regardless it was a rather good poem and I rather enjoyed it.
This was amazing. i loved it. It showed complete confidence and it was emotional. I think that what you wrote is fanominal.

Keep Writing!

This amused me.

I've seen it for weeks now but refused to click because it said so
Today, I decided to rebel. This made me smile.

Ooh I liked this. I love the concept to this and also by using this cncept your alo attracting people to read your work which is very clever. Not the best poem I've ever read but it's certainly got something
Well done
xxxx
Hahaha!!! Very funny! Interesting poem! Very clever, too clever almost. There's nothing I could say for improvement that other people had already told you themselves. It was really clever in that it can stand as a poem in it's own right but it as if it was intended for the person curious enough to click on it and look at it. So overall, well done
This is WONDERFUL! No criticism here! Funny, Ironic, Flowing, With a Point! I love this! Thank you for sharing!
I like how everyone was reeled in cleverly with the title. Great job!
It ran very smoothly, so it was nicely written. I liked it very much, and I have nothing to critique you about, because you don't need it for this poem
First off, I fell for it! Haha! I'm in class, so trying my best not to chuckle too loudly. x) Second, I must commend you for your use of words! For 13, you certainly have quite the vocabulary, I'm truly impressed! There was one little knit-pick that I must point out, nothing huge:
Instead of this, try "Go do as you should." It flows a bit better with the piece. But that's just my personal opinion; if you feel your poem is perfectly fine the way it is, then ignore me.
~Panda;;
wow i kinda loved this poem but kinda hated it....i loved it but i hated that you made the right assumption about me....it was nice and fit together lol....i can't stop laughin at this tho...nice work
Hey
The name alone just thrilled me, the contents just blew me!! Humans are way to predictable... I say that like I'm some sort of alien lol. I enjoyed the way you expressed yourself it's as if i could here a voice scolding me for clicking this! The voice in my head kinda sounded like my mother. lol You deserve a real big round of applause for this brilliant poem... pity you cant hear me from here.
Just a little nit-picking. The rhyme scheme in the first stanza doesn't really flow, but this is just my opinion. maybe you could play around a little with words and you'll find something slightly more appropriate.
Other than that i have no problems, though some readers may not like your attitude towards them reading your work.lol

I clicked. And I was entertained.
This is a great poem, and in just fiddling around on the guitar, this would make an excellent song. I especially loved how you brought back "curiosity killed the cat" in the last stanza. I thought it packaged everything up very neatly.
However, I'm really disappointed in your final stanza. Everything was going smoothly, and I was really getting into it, and it was very very good. But your last stanza is preachy. I loved the disappointment and frustration with the world throughout the whole poem, and then this happened:
To be quite honest, it's lame. If you turn this stanza into something less confrontational (and less blatant), and try to remove the "this is what you should get out of this poem" feel that is currently there, it'll be a much better work.
Keep it up,
kf
This is so cute! I love it. Though I did see something I thought I'd make not of, in this stanza:

Afraid we will miss out,
If we follow the rules.
Intead we seem childish
and we look like such fools.
I do believe you meant "Instead we seem childish"
That's the only error I saw. I loved the poem itself. Very clever, very clever indeed.
Great job,
Amber
It didn't really live up to the title. I thought it would be something shocking. I wanted a WOW factor. but other than that. it was a pretty good.
Keep Writing!!!
Your friendly neighborhood Kafka.
Now. As nearly all of the reviews you have received thus far are things like:
...I thought I might offer you some critique you might find a tad bit more useful. I can guarantee that this is going to be harsh, so if you are feeling temperamental at the moment, I deplore you to read on. There's my warning. So. Let's get started, shall we?
Clever? Perhaps for a fourth grader. Sorry to ruin your party, but poetic dexterity is much more than simply having a title that says not to click it. I'm guessing that this was the entire purpose of this poem, because, to put it bluntly, everything else - the feeling, the flow, the imagery - falls utterly flat. It is also clear that the title was the only thing you hoped would pull the poem forward because the entirety of the poem orbits around it, and does not dare attempt to sever the barrier, or to make some epiphanic revelation. You've tied yourself to the fence.
I think you were aiming for something of a deeper meaning, but the ceaseless contradictory statements cause this endeavor to crumble. For example, in the beginning, you imply that curiosity can be represented as a hazardous means to achieve understanding. In the second stanza, you give the reader the notion of a narrator either having lured the reader into a trap, or watching the reader attempt to navigate the precarious enterprise that is, apparently, curiosity. It is in the third and fourth stanzas, however, that the fallacies begin to appear. The contents of the former cause me to begin to view the narrator as some bemused deity, which further sways me into believing that said narrator is, in fact, an onlooker. "Twisted-up fears," I assume, relates to curiosity in that we are curious about the wrong subjects - subjects that we otherwise should be afraid of. Right there, one can perceive a discongruousness. This says that this whole thing was a trap. Following this logic, one can deduce that the narrator has a slightly cruel sense of humor. And there is one small, but important, issue that I noticed. All of the "we"'s you use while scolding the reader for his/her curiosity completely contradict the divine properties you established earlier.
Hope this helped in some way. And remember - I did warn you.

It's absolutely amazing how much attention this thread has gotten. Tell someone not to do something that they can't get in trouble for doing and they immediately do it. Wow.
Wow, this was cool, hah! What a great way to title it, and what a great poem it was! I was expecting to see something ... different. Not something, almost, mocking us for clicking the title! I really like the first and last verses (if that's what you call them, hahah.)
I like how you brought the beginning and ending together by the first lines, and contradicted the second line in the end with "satisfaction won't do any good" instead of "satisfaction brought it back". I think this was a really cool concept to your poem! Keep it up!
I loved this poem. Normally when people refernece other sayings in poems; it bothers me because its not orignal. You, are an exception. You made it your own and explanded the meaning. Great job!
Wow... this poem is so good! There are no grammar or spelling mistakes that I can see, and it flows really well. It's quite a strange and unexpected poem, but the title really draws the reader in and it is so good!
congratulations on a truly superb poem, keep writing this well!

Hello.
Nice title XD.
- I think you should also just capitalize the first letter, like most of the lines.
- Correction: 'in fact'
- I'm not sure if this is grammatically correct. >.<
- Typo: 'Instead'
- Also, I think you should put a comma after 'Instead'.
- Same here about the capitalization of the first letter.
- Same here.
- Same here.
This is an interesting poem.
Never stop writing.
well, you got my view and review... aren't you glad i clicked it now.
p.s i should be doing my homework since i've got soooooooo much of it, but instead i shall continue to read clever poems because they interest me.
curse the man who invented tetriary education.
I loved this poem =)
Of course, the title meant that I just HAD to click on it. Very entertaining =)
I should've seen that poem coming from the title. The best way to get everything done is by reverse psychology, including getting more views on your poem. Well done =)
not too shabs.
Didn't see any grmmar or spelling mistakes, loved to topic and the poem. You're making my job as a reviewer hard, but that's good. Shows how talented you are as a writer.
Don't tell me what to do

Anyway, I've repressed the urge to click on this for a few days. Seeing as I'm... human... I sort of gave in to peer pressure.
The title of this piece was basically a Jedi mind trick. It was like on those Scantron sheets where there's a blank box and inside it says "Do Not Write Inside This Box". All I can think whenever I see those is like, "Why should I listen to some faceless being that can't even capitalize sentences properly? You're just asking for trouble, Scantron." Of course, that urge is easier to fight because, if I do write inside the box, I fail the test.
This was a really cute poem. It made me smile.
I don't know much about poetry, so I'm not going to go on for paragraphs about symbolism and syllabolic errors. A thumbs up from me to you is all I can offer.
I love this! The clicked it precisely because you said NOT to!!! You are so right. LOL! Cute poem, good job. It was creative and original, yet not 'weird' or 'hard to understand.'
Initial impression is the poem dies with the title. It's trite, a second of insight. And otherwise that's it. There was no center of the tootsie pop to find because it fell apart on first contact. I'll leave a full review later.
Awww man! You had to name this "do not click".Now it was impossible to leave this alone.Anyway this was really cool.Unexpected, but good.Curiosity is human nature. It is our sense of discovery that has led to our success. So, great job and sorry to hear it killed the cat, but it works for us.Keep writing!

*****I found this very clever. Good way to capture the reader's attention immediately. The whole piece was near perfection, except for a few grammatical errors. Nice work.
hello, Im Kitty.

Magnificent poem you got there.. . outstanding job writing, I love how the poem ends and the words rhymed perfectly as it's been written. got no negative comments about this one, its wonderful.
I dont really check for grammar as much as everyone else does, although I do check for misspelled words, but in your case, the words are spelled correctly. good job
I love it!! Especially because I fell for it myself!!
Good job!!
I love it!!!!!! Great idea for a poem, I fell for it!!
Cute poem (: there's not much I can do but laugh. Because you told me too.

I feel like a dork for clicking on this and feeling evil and defiant, but really I was just average. o.O
And as I clicked it, I sounded much like Murdock off of the A-team screaming, "OHH I CLICKED IT! OOOHH! WHAT NOW!?" (:
hhaha. So this review basically has nothing to do with the topic, but it was a good poem. Congratulations, you wrote a poem that I had NO idea you could do!
Love,
Fixed
Hahaha =D I like that poem ! We humans are sooo predictable ! xD
Oh my goodness. I love this poem and I love you for writing it! All 13 years of you.
Neat observation! Lovely and well-thought-out idea!
REALLY nice. Lovely and true concept!
Rock on!
Keep writing!
