The Strength to Say

In Poems

Voices ring like wedding bells,

laughter sounds like hope;

it's nice that you've found happiness,

but you completely forgot about me.

We used to be friends, allies;

we used to have each other's backs.

Now, you've gone and abandoned

the one you'd swear you never left.

It's nice to know I'm loved;

it's nice to know you care.

But we were meant to stick together,

and you ran the first chance you got.

I scream at the top of my lungs,

yet you still don't hear.

What's the point of holding on

if there's nothing here?

I just want to thank you,

for leaving me behind.

My heart shatters and shimmers,

until I've spoken every line.

Rocky! I officially love your poetry! It inspires me so much! It makes me think.

I really like how this poem flows, like a river of emotion. At one point, I read a couple lines and though it rhymed because it flowed so well. But it didn't, not that that matters because this is such a good poem.

If you stop writing, the world will be deprived of some truly awesome poetry.

"I love you as certain dark things are to be loved, in secret, between the shadow and the soul."
— Pablo Neruda
