To the Ellipsis

E - Everyone

In Poems

The entirety of my life

Lies within the palm of sullen words

Of the children of fate.

To look into the eyes of a being and know

That hatred is your middle man and love

Was the child crying outside the hut of humanity.

I was never whole

Could one ever be?

To look into the corridors of your soul

And know that complexity is your curse; your blessing

Your essence beyond comprehension.

So you become a mass of good with no will

A waste...

However, I am indebted to the Divine.

To end without the naive glimpses of hope

Is a crime against the human in me.

To the writer who was never written

I know I am written.

But help me find the words you used.

I choose not to be defined by the obscurity of an ellipsis

Anymore...

I almost cried, because I've been fighting to describe the same feeling for years upon years, and you've just... got it.
I'm honestly beyond jealousy with this piece. Tell me, how long did it take you to write this beauty?
grr...
But in all seriousness, it moved me.
It made something in my heart call out to my mind and say "By golly, they did it! They've described it!" (Only to be followed up with "why couldn't I do that...") Haha.

Wonderful job, you have something going for you. Especially if your other works are anywhere near as beautiful as this. Loved it.

Good Luck To You!

Wow this poem is amazing, it had awoken something within me that I never knew was there. It's unclear which in my opinion is good, I know that may seem a bit queer, but keeping things unsaid makes the reader think, which we need more of, and you made that happen. once again Great job and I hope to read more of your writing!

Excellently written. It’s a little confusing… my subconcious knows what you’re saying, but my concious mind doesn’t…
However, this speaks to me anyway. It’s beautiful.
My favorite line- “That hatred is your middle man and love
Was the child crying outside the hut of humanity.”
Wow. That’s powerful.
Oh, and “I was never whole Could one ever be?” is a close second. I always feel that way.
Beautiful.

Daddy Long Legs are more closely related to crabs than spiders and somehow the idea of crablike creatures with spider legs that have escaped the entrappings of the primordial sea and now crawl over land and can walk up and down walls and ceilings creeps me more than I can adequately describe.
