Times a many, none a few
Have I wondered why life is so cruel.
A more wicked tyrant you'll not find,
But a lover so gentle you can never procure.
Life can chew you up and spit you out
Like poison in its mouth
Tearing at our delicate souls as though a fresh carcass to hungry sharks.
It can, It will
Show you all the dark and depressing aspects of yourself
Overshadowing all the good you have done.
Or
Life can be blissful and full of light, Radiant hope infecting you and all those who surround you.
Giving rise to joy, peace and harmony with oneself, their family and friends And the world at large.
It shows you how you light up another person's life and how meaningful you are to the world,
Your purpose for being alive.
We now see that life can be a fickle mistress with constant changes to her palette based on our decisions
To choose our destiny.
For life doesn't dictate where we end up,
It only serves as a guide for future endeavors and serves as a journal of misfortunes and fortune
So we can look back and see where we went wrong.
For a falling leaf cannot reattach itself to a tree
But it can steer itself in the wind to land in soil and hope to grow.

Hey Jevan13! Katja here to review another one of your poems. And might I say, I am once again amazed at your skill for writing poetry and utilizing amazing vocabulary to produce a master-piece. I feel as though i'm reading a more modern version of Shakespeare! I quite admire your work, to say the least. Anyway... Onto the actual review. Please feel free to disregard any of my comments or suggestions, should you deem them unhelpful.
My overall opinion:
Loved it! Your poem, to my interpretation, is emphasizing the two sides of life, the potential good or bad. It analyzes "life" from two different perspectives and clarifies through the use of figurative language, that our decisions definitely have a play on how our lives play out.
What I Liked:
Me too. And your poem does a much better job at analyzing this than I ever have.
I especially love your use of similes and metaphors in this poem to get your point across. Several times you did so and so well.
This couldn't be more true! Life can feel so very unfair, and though it does have some play without our control, in where we end up, ultimately it is just a guide and the rest is in our hands. Your poem reminds me of a saying a very wise woman once told me, "You cannot control how others act, or the situations you may find yourself in, however, our actions are ours to control and in the end, that is all you can control".
I have no suggestions for you today. Thank you for sharing this lovely piece on life and it's potential to be either good or bad depending on our actions. I look forward to reading more of your work soon!

I love this so much! Your vocabulary is wonderful and you paint such a beautiful. I think this poem really speaks truth too. There are those who only look at the negative aspects and those who see only the positive. I love how this is inspiring others to go dictate their paths. The little bumps in the road do not have to define you.

I love this part because, for me, it is saying that no matter where you come from, good or bad background, you can be your own person and flourish as you do it.
