In The Storm

Hehehe... Hello! Here's another poem! Life is wonderful because God is beautiful!

In the middle of the storm,
I opened my Bible and prayed
For words that could make this heart feel safe
Philippians 4:6, like a candle in the dark
I got down on my knees,
Prayed again and cried

Jesus knows me better than me,
He knows what I can handle right now
and I've heard so many times before
He would never put me through something I can't

I got up and I smiled for Him
Took my Bible off the floor
Wiped those tears full of fear,
Laughed and said "Wow! I'm strong"

I liked this poem alot, it shows how strong your faith is. And sometimes people (Like me) need to be reminded that God will never give us anything we cannot bear. I tend to forget this from time to time... but this poem was a nice reminder.

Great job!

Alright, I have some critiquing to do so lets start. This is a well written poem with a good idea behind it, and I like that you decided to write about what you believe in. I don't really see many people doing that, and I like the poem for that. This poem is very well written and explained and the words flowed very smoothly and clearly, and I managed to pick up the message you were putting out when you decided to write this. This is a great poem and I think you should write more.

Your critiquing friend, Tyler.

I like how simple this poem is, and I don't think you have to be religious to appreciate the idea behind it. I think it's very inspirational, and I'd go as far as saying that it could be something that people turn to and read when they're feeling like they can't cope, and realise that whether we believe in God or not, we are all strong human beings and we really can handle more than we think. It flowed well, the rhyming was good, and I really enjoyed it. Well done.

Wow! I love it! So simple yet so powerful! This is just something I would do, but I would put in a little doubt. Fear that that maybe God has given me something more than I can handle, and then the relief. But overall beauiful work!

I opened my Bible and prayed
For words that could make this heart feel safe
Philippians 4:6, like a candle in the dark

He knows what I can handle right now

That's a really great poem. I liked how you used an example of where you opened it to. :)

Very nice writing here. I especially like the reference to the specific verse in the Bible. I'm a strong Catholic, so I appreciate a good show of faith. Very nice imagery. Keep loving Christ, and he'll keep taking care of you.
If you don't mind, I would very much appreciate it if you could read my short story Ghosts That Linger and comment. Thank you very much, and keep writing!

I have one word for you: Wow.

This is really a great poem and I'm lovin' it xD. The message is epic. :D *thumbs up all the way to Heaven*

My only suggestion is that you capitalize the first letter of the word 'bible'. xD

To Periablo: How can you prove that He does not exist? None can prove it the same way none can prove that He does exist. The term is as general as the terms 'fate', 'destiny', 'prophecy', 'psychic', 'chi', and etc.

Not a bad poem. Only one problem: God doesn't exist.

I liked this poem. And yes you can do it. Jesus will always be there to guide you, and he would never put you through something that he didnt think you could handle. You are never alone in Christ(:. Beautiful poem.
