But instead, you fall.
Instead, your butterfly dies in its jar.
And your wish never comes true.

Waiting and waiting for something to be better,
something more.
But it becomes even less

You wish you could stop wars,
Push mountains,
and control the world.

But the more you hope,
the more you are disappointed.
So what’s the point?

You believe in something so much,
that it only destroys you in the end.

But I guess that’s hope for you.

Hi, Jupiter. I loved the poem. I liked how you used simple, easy words and lines to point out a reality....It's something that can relate to anyone..
Anyway, this poem didn't sound depressing to me at all. I felt that it is a voice telling me to hope again even if my hope doesn't come true...So, to me, the poem is inspiring.

Saddening. I really liked the comparisons with the star and caterpillar. Since they aren't commonly used, it made the poem seem more descriptive. It started very strong and ended well too. I liked how you put the last line into italics to separate it from the rest. Great job! I really liked it even if it was a bit depressing. I can't wait to read more of your poetry!

I understand this poem a lot. You put your trust into something, and then you are heartbroken when it fails you. Whether it be a friend you thought you would be close to forever, or something as miniscule as an app not giving a notification when it should have, you feel disappointed in something when it doesn't do what you thought.
