E - Everyone

you are a writer

once, a long time ago,

you were happy.

Then, you grew up and

realized that people are cruel

and happy endings are not real.

and yet

you remember

the gift you were given.

you see people

you feel their pain, their joy, their sorrows

and you write it down.

hoping that in doing so

you will save your mortal soul.

you understand

there is so much love, so much joy

in our existence

and it keeps you holding on

one day at a time.

Heya, Ruby here with a review.

1st Impressions:
Even reading through this only once this hits really hard, especially as I tend to think of he future and past quite often. I can relate to every point you suggest: the happiness slowly morphing into distress as you become older and realise that even success has boundaries and it is likely you won't be able to achieve what you truly wish to. Because as human beings, we think things to be easier, simpler even to become it. Then we get torn apart when we come to our senses and get to know reality. Even at my young age I have started to see the truth of the world.

WWW: I love the relativity of this piece. It is free for interpretations and becomes unique for every reader. The flow is excellent too, each line/stanza nicely moves onto the next without any interruptions. I applaud you for this as I know the struggle with odd changes between lines that just don't sound right. The vocabulary is at a nice level with some words being slightly more complex however not over complicating the piece as a whole. It is clear and easy to understand what the message actually is.

EBI: There isn't much to improve on ; you have done a great job with your ideas and let them run wildly beautiful in this poetic structure. I think a simile or metaphor could blend in quite nicely but then again, it isn't required to give a great effect.

Overall:
It is excellent simply! I think you have a beautiful style when writing and needs more attention for sure. Worthy of the literary spotlight. Great write from a great writer :)

A SadGuy Review

this made me think that basically when you're a child you're happy and everything is great and basically the world is just so colorful. But when you grow up you realize that maybe the world isn't as great as it seems and maybe everyone is not as nice as you thought. And eventually all that color just turns to gray and then the world gets just bland and maybe life just isn't as meaningful as we thought and then at your lowest point you remember that passion that you have the love for the thing that you do best, so you work on it and work on it and eventually with all that can make life feel more meaningful and that maybe it isn't as bad as it seems. And then eventually you are able to see all the great things in this world and your eyes are just opened and that feeling that though keeps you going as you said one day at a time. I thought this was a good poem that shows the struggle that some go through until eventually they find something that makes them happier or able to keep going. Great job!

Hey, Elinor!

This poem allows the innermost thoughts of all writers, creative thinkers, artisans, et cetera to flow freely in the written word. Even if we do not literally write it down, we remember it all-- the pain, the anguish, the tears, the smiles, the laughter, the grief-- all of it. We are each and every one of us empaths, destined to know how those around us feel. As creators, we are expected to find the light, only the happiness, and show the world that happiness. But we cannot. It is our duty to show the truth as we see it.

you understand
there is so much love, so much joy
in our existence
and it keeps you holding on
one day at a time.

This. This is enough to help someone hang on to it all, despite of and in spite of everything going on around them. In some cases, we are the bringers of the happiness, the joy, the smiles, laughter.

I hope you have a wonderful [*insert time of day here*]!!!

Hi, loved this poem so I thought I'd review it.

The poem sounds really good and it fits together really well together.

The lines could be longer, but I wouldn't stress it much. Other than that I really don't have any suggestions besides irregularity with capital letters, which tbh isn't really my strong suit.

Now for the part I have been aching to write. PRAISE!! This poem is wonderful and you should totally be proud to have written it. I loved the depth you were able to add without making it too heavy. It was still airy and inspiring while still being powerful and I love that.

Overall, I love it and I am definitely going to read more of your work.🥀🖤🥀🖤🥀

Hey there! Lovely job on this poem. I like how the body of the poem itself explains the title, or rather, the title explains the body. The poem never mentions anything about being a writer in those words, but it implies it, especially when it mentions "the gift you were given." I really like how you've shown us that writing can be a reaction to a dark world. You've hinted at how creativity with words can be an avenue of expressing feelings and of pouring out one's heart.

I want to point out that your third line is the only one that begins with a capital letter. I would consider either starting every sentence with a capital letter, or doing no capitals at all. You could also begin every line with a capital, but I don't think that quite fits this type of poem. Also, watch where your punctuation is placed. I noticed at least one spot where there was a period at the end of a line, but still in the middle of a sentence. If you're going for more informal punctuation, maybe think of using commas instead of those periods. Other than that, your writing is good. :) Keep it up!

hello Elinor! Nicole here for another quick review!

first impressions: I thought the title was really good and draws the reader in.
I thought the flow was really good and easy to follow, and the flow was really nice. and the wording you choose was excellent!

I really liked the part where it said ¨ you feel their pain, their joy, their sorrows
and you write it down.¨ I thought that perfectly described the role of a writer.

I also like the part that goes

¨there is so much love, so much joy

in our existence

and it keeps you holding on

one day at a time.¨
it ends on and of hopeful note. I thought it was put perfectly

suggestions:
I don´t really have anything to put here I thought it was perfect.

I hope that was helpful. good work! and keep on writing!
