“Suzanne has always struck me as a sweet name. What do you think, Caspar?” Beverly asked.
Caspar was sitting on the armchair across from Beverly, who lay on the hospital bed with their baby girl.
Just when he thought that his life couldn’t get any better, Beverly gave birth to their daughter. Already, Caspar imagined an abundant life with his family, just like his Mom and Dad gave him. A life that had its sorrows, but with sprinkles of love that would outweigh any misfortune.
“I’m fine with whatever you’d like to name her.” Caspar said with a smile.
“Suzanne it is.” Beverly said, kissing Suzanne on the head.
Suzanne it is. Caspar thought contentedly to himself.

This is a very short snippet of a story. I like that you show a tender moment without any drama here. It feels kinda like the calm before the storm, as if something terrible is abt to happen to break this life that “couldn’t get any better”…
I still think this might have too little meat to warrant being a standalone :3
