You gave me a review a while back, so I figured I'd return the favor.
This is a nice small poem and has a nice, yet short, structure. The subject of the night sky is definately something new for me to see, so it was a "breath of fresh air" so to speak. I like the writing and hope all poetry you write is this good. Thanks for the review you gave me. If you want to read more I posted a new work. I'll be posting on my status and blog.
Keep Writing
I loved this poem! It was very whimsical and vague (in all the right ways)...my favorite types of poem!
The only critique I have is that maybe you should have a comma after dark and a comma after life
A very nice poem. I thought that the second verse was much better than the first.
Just some little nitpicks:
I think that "evidence for the divine" would work much better as "evidence of the divine".
On the second to last line, I would use a comma instead of a period. I see what you're trying to do, but I think maintaining the flow is more important.
Great poem!
Thanks for the review! Let me know if you ever need a review
This was really quite wonderful!
I enjoy poetry but when I read it I expect it to be good.
This was better than good. This was excellent.
Granted it was quite short but sometimes it's quality and not quantity, to quote something teachers across the world say.
I enjoy rhyming pieces of work because they tend to draw me in.
I'm not quite sure whether the ending was sad or melancholy but I found it rather mixed. There was an element of sadness in there but it was a sort of 'light at the end of a tunnel' moment too. It was like a realisation of that characters self.
(I might be over thinking it a little there actually)
Nevertheless this was a wonderful piece of poetry.
Well done and keep writing!
Thanks for the review! I'm glad you liked it. For me the ending was about my realisation that I can't convince myself there's a God out there, and that means we're all alone in life. So it was hope because it means we have control over our own destiny and can be whoever we want to be, but tinged with the scariness and sadness of relying only on yourself. So, you pretty much got the sad-but-light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel thing spot on! Thanks again for reviewing
