Imagine That

In **Poetry**

One step
That’s all you take
But it’s still
Frozen,
Imagine That.

One scream
That’s all you scream
As you fall into
And out of
A black hole.

Down, down
Down you go
Your feet grow together
You are a mermaid
Imagine That.

Imagine that you
Are lost and cold
A helpless kitten
Following the road,
Imagine That.

Imagine a door
That leads to forever
A door that changes
Who you are
And who you’re meant to be.

Imagine that
Beyond this door
You grow wings
A tail
And scales too
That you are a dragon.

Speed and talent
Course through your veins
You are outwitted
And fall back to earth
Human again.

Imagine That.

On the whole this is a very well-done poem. I enjoyed the imagery and the repetition of the title phrase "Imagine That" tied everything together neatly.
I am not a huge student of poetry so do not weigh my critique too heavily, all that I can offer is the laymen's perspective:
I found that the first two stanzas were rather dark and foreboding which seemed rather out of place with the tone of the remainder of the poem. The first two stanzas fit together well and the final three stanzas flowed together perfectly but your transition from the second to third stanza could have been smoother.
All in all, I enjoyed this poem very much and I hope that you continue to post your work.

I think this is a great poem, and I really like it, but for some reason, I feel like the first two or three stanzas don't match the rest of the poem. It might just me be, but I feel the remaining stanzas have more unity than these ones do. I don't know how you'd fix that though.
It's a great poem. Very original, I like the feel that you could be anything you want to be, and the mystery of not knowing what you'll be. You got your point across perfectly, and even though you don't do much describing, I could see what you were talking about vividly in my head. Great job, keep writing! :)
