Chapter 1

The evening sky settled over Horsten Town. The sky game a bright glow, the Moon reaching down onto the Town below. Andrea could sit by the edge of the Window for hours, watching it rise and sink every evening. The KeepingItReal Festival was in full motion on the street below, Dancers dancing, Drummers Drumming, Singers singing, it was a sight Andrea's eyes set on once every Year. It was now the time of the 'Lightning', or Fireworks, as people said. Andrea watched the rockets burst into colors she'd only ever dreamed of. Suddenly, A bright Green Beam shot down from the sky, and into Andrea's emerald eyes. They shone a spooky Green, and as soon as she blinked, they were the same Emerald Green they'd been before. She felt stiff, sitting up and watching out the window, and as she moved, she felt a stinging sensation on her arms, legs, and face. It stung like a hundred bee's, but Andrea was Brave, and strong, and a silly little thing like that didn't affect her. She stayed stiff for the next few hours, glad she was stuck in the position of the street ; it gave her the best view of the Festival.

Suddenly, the Lights, Music and Colors stopped.

The night returned to it's Natural Coloring, and sounds.

Andrea managed to move out of her Paralisation, and into her, lovely, warm bed. She snuggled down beneath the covers, pulling her special Rose Quartz to her chest, holding the light string that held it round her neck.

It belonged to her Mother, who she only rarely knew when she was a young girl. Her father was the only living parent she had, and he was the only thing she needed right now. She kissed the Rose Quartz, and shut her eye's, rocking herself to sleep.

Andrea woke up with a startle. There was a large thud coming from downstairs, and then a giant FIZZ, and Andrea sat bolt-upright.

Her heartbeat was off the scale, but after a moment, she gathered her breath, and it was back to her normal speed. She slipped out of her bed, and grabbed her creme, silk dressing gown on the way downstairs. What ever the noise was, it was coming from the Kitchen. No denying that. On the small Table in the Hallway, was a bottle of Air Freshener. She picked it up slowly, being careful not to knock the table, and she tip-toed up to the kitchen door...

she twisted the knob, and the door swung open, revealing her father standing in a blue dressing gown, picking up shards from a small coffee mugs. There was also half a cabinet on the floor. Andrea gawped at the mess, and looked down at her father, who had now cut his finger on one of the tiny shards.

Her father looked up to her, and he gave her a small, but funny grin.

Andrea let in, and began to giggle.

" Dad! Look at this mess! What did you do, yank the whole thing down"

He nodded, his face blushing bright red, and, Andrea knew he wasn't as guilty as he looked.

" Let me help" she sighed, placing the Air Fresher on the Kitchen sink, and kneeling down beside him.

" No, it's okay, I'll do it. There are a lot of sharp pieces, honey, I don't want you to get hurt" he insisted, and Andrea stood up.

" And, why where you carrying the Air Freshener? Is that really necessary?" he asked her, and it was Andrea's turn to blush red.

Andrea reached over to the kitchen window, and switched the small TV on.

Melissa Childs appeared on the screen, holding a microphone to a large gentleman, who was dressed in a grey suit, and shiny, black shoes.

Andrea's father stood up, studying him for a moment.

" What is it, dad?" Andrea asked, looking back and forth between her father, and the man on the TV.

" He seems familiar. I can't quite put my finger on it though...".

Her father seemed a little agitated.

Leave him be, Andrea thought responsibly, and she sat down on the kitchen counter, flicking through one of her fathers Bikes' magazines.

She noticed him staring at the screen a little too long, so she slipped off the counter, and turned off the switch.

He suddenly went blank, and for a moment, Andrea thought he was having a ' Mad Moment' , as she called it.

Andrea decided to change the subject.

" So, dad, I've been meaning to ask you something. It's actually quite important".

Her fathers head snapped towards her, and Andrea gulped.

" What's wrong, Honey?".

"Okay, well... it's about mom" she replied, and she watched as her fathers eyes went...blank.

They swirled into grey, nothingness.

" Ah, well, I've been meaning to tell you something about her". His eyes didn't loose their grayness, but it looked like they'd gained more.

" Dad, what is it?".

" Your mother. She didn't...die. She..."

Andrea said " Dad, what happened? Is she still Alive? What's going on?".

He looked at her, and his eyes gave a , very, very small sparkle.

" She was...murdered".

Andrea noticed a deathly silence creep into the room.

She suddenly felt awkward standing by her father.

She could feel the atmosphere change around her, forming into something nasty.

" Mur..dered..?" she managed to choke.

She stared at her father as he nodded slowly, as if he were trying to resist.

" Why didn't you tell me this before?" she demanded, the sound echoed around the house, bouncing off walls and doors.

Her father couldn't stop looking at the ground.

His eyes were pools of guilt.

And so he should be, Andrea thought bitterly, and she stomped out of the room. She trudged all the way up the stairs and into her bedroom, slamming the door behind her.

She yanked out her diary from behind her special box, and furiously grabbed a pen.

She scribbled words, curse words into her diary, explaining what'd had happened. She wrote on the page so hard, it imprinted into nearly all the pages left in her Diary.

She cried out in pure frustration, and yanked all the cursed pages out.

She sat there, and cried her heart out. She brung her knees to her face, and sobbed into them.

Tell me it isn't true, it's a lie, she thought , confused.

But there was nothing she could do.

She didn't have a time machine, she couldn't stop this.

" I'M GOING TO KILL WHO-EVER DID THIS!" she cried, and pulled a pillow off her bed. She flung across the room, until it the hit the window.

Nothing happened.

She grabbed her pen pot, and threw that instead, until it smashed against the window.

There was a heart-breaking CLASH, and her window shattered, sending small shards - like her fathers cup- across the room. One tiny piece slid across her hand, and plummeted straight into her arm. Pain soared through her whole body, and suddenly, she lifted her hand to the roof, and a gigantic Green bold fired out of her hand, and into the roof.

The roof began to crumble, and white powder sprinkled down on her.

She coughed a little, and stood up , examining the hole above her.

She heard quick footsteps, and Andrea darted across the room, and onto her bed.

She shut her eyes, and lay still.

She heard the sound of the door-knob being turned, and her father was standing in the doorway, his face flashing purple.

" WHAT...THE...HELL...IS...THIS...MESS?!" he screeched, and Andrea jumped a little.

If she looked like she'd been knocked out, maybe he wouldn't have a go at her?

He bounded across the room to her bed, and shook her.

Hard.

Andrea's eyes snapped open, and she glared at her father.

" Your blaming ME for this mess? You were the one who didn't tell me my mother was MURDERED!" and the whole house went a horrid, awkward silence, again.

Andrea woke up to the sound of birds singing, right from her window sill. It all suddenly came rushing back to her, she'd sent a Green Bolt to her roof, and smashed her own window. The window was - not so much- crowded with birds, but there were two small Robins watching her slowly, as if waiting for her to tell them what to do.

She sat up slowly, rubbing her fore-head. Her arm began to ache, and she watched at it, the blood dried, but a pretty deep cut.

She glanced over at her alarm clock, it was... 8:00am?

" Oh shoot!" she cried, and she jumped out of bed. She changed in double quick time, and hurried downstairs.

The house was silent.

She grabbed her Messenger-back off the coat/bag hook, and rushed off to school.

She was meant to meet her friend, Martha, half an hour ago, so that they could walk to school.

It took them an hour to get to school, and they had to be at school by 8:45am.

No doubt, Andrea thought, Martha had already left.

Andrea hurried down the street, nearly tripping on the curb, as she crossed the road. She finally reached Martha's house, and she knocked at the lion-shaped knocker.

Martha opened the door, holding her school bag, and holding her hand to her face.

" Late! Come on, we need to leave NOW. If we don't, Mr Hardson is gonna give you a D10. Wait, let me correct that. D30" Martha said, shutting the front door behind her.

They jogged half the way, and as they arrived, the bell for registration rung loud through every corridor.

Andrea and Martha legged it down nearly every corridor, until they reached their form, Mr Hardson.

Everyone was seated ( as usual) and Andrea felt her heart sink. She slipped into her seat beside Charlotte, and watched Martha do the same.

Mr Hardson didn't look to impressed.

" Andrea, late?".

He sounded a little less lively.

" Uhh..."

" That's not the answer I wanted! D30, me, tomorrow lunch" he shouted, and Andrea slapped the table.

" It wasn't just me, sir, you always pick on me!".

Some people oohed , and some people gasped.

Andrea wasn't surprised.

" Young lady, I do not tolerate lateness, or answering back! I am aware of Miss Brown's lateness to, and she will not go un-punished. I do not pick favorites' , so , I do not hate you, nor like you. You are a form class, that is all. We should all get on, and that applies to everyone!".

Oh goody, a super-hero story! I really love those! But enough about my geeky pleasures, this is a review.
This is a really good start, and if you continue this I will do a happy dance. I do, however; have to point out a few things (Sorry about that).
-I am pretty sure you meant gave and not game, bolt not bold, and hole not whole. Easy to make those mistakes.
-There were quite a few capitalized words that had no right to be capitalized. (Those sneaky, sneaky words.)
-Andrea was perfectly fine seeing a bright green beam and being paralyzed but when her father drops a cup she gets scared? Seems like selective bravery.
-Why does her father suddenly decide to tell his daughter that her mother was murdered?
-Did she already have her powers or was it that suspicious green light that did it? If it was the light, like I suspect, then she was a bit calm to suddenly have green bolts shooting out of her and destroying the roof. Just saying.
Well, that's about it. TazmaniaGirl, I beg of you, please continue this! It really is pretty darn good.

Also, I apologize for the lateness of this review.

Its okay, and thank you, I will continue.
(When I find the File I wrote this story on)!

Hi everyone!

I wanted to test this out on a New Writing Document, and then I satared to like it. The first bit if based on what we did in English, writing a story for a SuperHero we created.
I hope you like it!

( I have gone over the spelling many times, so please, don't tell me it's wrong)!
I like comments and reviews!
